Coaches Vs. Cancer Classic
The Coaches vs. Cancer Classic was an annual college basketball tournament event benefiting cancer research held from 2012 to 2014. The event was held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, and televised by truTV. The tournament replaced the previous Coaches vs. Cancer Classic tournament of 1995-2011, which was renamed the 2K Sports Classic in 2012 when it became a charitable event for the Wounded Warrior Project. The tournament featured 12 schools, with four host schools playing two games on campus and advancing to the Championship Rounds held at the Barclays Center. The remainder of the field participated in a round-robin series at one of the two sub-host sites. The Florida State Seminoles won the inaugural Coaches vs. Cancer Classic in 2012 by defeating the St. Joseph's Hawks 73–66. The 2012–13 Notre Dame Fighting Irish men's basketball team represented the University of Notre Dame in the sport of basketball during the 2012–13 college basketball season. The 2012–13 Florida State Seminoles men's basketball team represented Florida State University in the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season The Seminoles were led by eleventh year head coach Leonard Hamilton and played their home games at the Donald L. The Evansville Purple Aces men's basketball team represents the Purple Aces of the University of Evansville, located in Evansville, Indiana, in NCAA Division I basketball competition. They play their home games at the Ford Center. Evansville's athletics teams were originally known as the Pioneers in the early part of the 1900s. The South Alabama Jaguars men's basketball program has competed in the Sun Belt Conference since 1978 when the league was formed. Since 1968, the Jaguars have compiled an overall record of 694–507 (.580). Ronnie Arrow returned as head coach in 2007, succeeding John Pelphrey after the 2006–07 season. In his three seasons succeeding Pelphrey, Coach Arrow was 63–34 (64.9%), and is 177–127 (58.2%) all time at South Alabama.
