Chirumhanzu
Midlands is a province of Zimbabwe. It has an area of and a population of 1,614,941 (2012). It is home to various peoples. Located at a central point in the country, it contains speakers of Shona, Ndebele, Tswana, Sotho and Chewa, as well as of various other languages. Gweru, the third-largest city in Zimbabwe, is the capital of the province. Midlands Province contains Kwekwe, a city of considerable mining and manufacturing industries, in which also the Sable Chemicals Trust maintains a presence. Chirumhanzu District
Chirumhanzu District is a Second-order Administrative Sub-division of Midlands (Zimbabwe) between Gweru and Masvingo. Its center is about 46 km south of Mvuma but the administrative centre has moved to Mvuma a small mining town that is found along Harare-Masvingo-Beitbridge Highway near Gweru Turn-off. Geography The district is 496 square kilometers in area. In 2002 census there were 70,441 people, thus 16,319 households and given a growth rate of 1.1% per annum, the current population is estimated at +/- 80,000. (2016) Chirumanzu communal lands occupy the southern part of Chirumanzu district between longitude 29˚50́E and 30˚45Έ and between latitudes 19˚30́S and 20˚20́S. Takawira RDC
Takawira Rural District Council is rural local authority created under the Rural District Councils Act Chapter 29.13 as provided by the constitution. It is bestored with wide ranging administrative and legislative powers over their respective jurisdictions through this Act. It is Chirumhanzu Rural District authority. Chirumhanzu District is rural with Mvuma being the only urban setup in the District. Background Chirumanzu Rural District Council was established through Proclamation No. 1 of 1993 which amalgamated Takawira District Council and Charter Rural Council and established new boundaries for the district. Chirumhanzu Rural District Council has the communal area, the resettlement area and three urban areas, Mvuma, Lalapanzi and Charandura under its jurisdiction. Tongogara RDC
Tongogara Rural District Council is a local government organ administering Shurugwi District Rural District. There are two local government arms, Shurugwi Town Council created under the Zimbabwe Urban Councils Act, Chapter 29.15 administering Shurugwi, and Tongogara RDC created in terms of the Zimbabwe Rural District Councils Act, Chapter 29.13 overseeing the rural Shurugwi South District Background Tongogara Rural District Council is the official name of Shurugwi Rural District Council. Kwekwe District
Kwekwe District is a district in Zimbabwe. Location It is found in the Midlands Province, in the central Zimbabwe. Kwekwe, with an estimated population of about 99,200 in 2004, is the capital city of the district. The district capital is located approximately , by road, southwest of Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe and the largest city in that country. Gweru District
Gweru District is a district in the Midlands Province of Zimbabwe. Background Gweru District gets its name from Gweru River which has the city as its source and primary drainage basin. Maintaining the theme of the midlands Gweru is very diverse. The name Gweru is a further corruption of the name Gwelo which was a distortion of the name ''Ikwelo'' given by isiNdebele speakers in the late 19th century. Ikwelo was the district because it was not a spot name but rather a name given to a place along the length of the river in question as written by Colonel Carbutt, of Southern Rhodesia as published by the then Chief Information Officer, Information Services Branch. Vungu RDC
Vungu Rural District Council is a local government arm overseeing the Gweru Rural District. It was created in terms of the Zimbabwe Rural District Councils Act; Chapter 29.13. Its capital is Gweru in Zimbabwe. Vungu Rural District Council is literally Gweru Rural District Council taking care of the rural district with Gweru Municipality taking care of the urban district. It comprises two parliamentary constituencies, Chiwundura (eight wards) and Vungu (eleven wards) while Gweru Municipality comprises Gweru Urban and Mkoba metropolitan constituencies. Runde Rural District Council is Zvishavane Rural District local government arm taking care of the rural district while Zvishavane Town Council administers the urban district. Zvishavane District
Zvishavane District is one of the eight districts in Midlands Province of Zimbabwe. It has Mberengwa District to the south and Shurugwi District to the north. Its capital is Zvishavane town. Economy Zvishavane District is home of Zvishavane Town which developed from an asbestos mine compound into a town. See Shabanie Mashaba Mine. It is also home to Murowa Diamond Mine located in Mazvihwa, 40 km from Zvishavane Town.
