Checkmate (short Film)
Checkmate is a short drama film written by Eugenia Caruso and directed by Jason Bradbury. The film was executively produced by Susanna Cappellaro and Amy Gilliam and produced by Tim Mogridge and Giles Maunsell. Alexander Shulgin, who composed the score, also co-produced the film. The costumes, curated by stylist Davey Sutton, are by Ulyana Sergeenko and the archive of Ann Demeulemeester. Plot Prosperity is trapped. In her constant pursuit of perfection she must battle her opposite Penury, in an enchanted game of chess. The game affects the lives of two perfect archetypal lovers in a far away land, but as the game develops and the end draws ever closer, we are confronted with the question; Can perfection last more than just a moment? Alexander Valeryevich Shulgin (russian: Aлeксандр Валepьeвич Шульгин; born August 25, 1964) is a Russian author and composer. He was born in Irkutsk, Russia, and currently lives in Moscow. Music career Shulgin's career began at the age of 19 in Russian rock band Kruiz. The band is regarded as legendary for being the first rock band from the USSR to tour abroad (1983–1986). The popularity of The Kruiz was remarkable as they were known as anti-Soviet, and there was no mention of the band in mass media. With the advent of reorganization of the USSR, in 1985, The Kruiz sold 20 million copies of their first album and in 1987 the album was released by WEA (Germany). Ann Verhelst (born 29 December 1959), known professionally as Ann Demeulemeester, is a Belgian fashion designer whose label, Ann Demeulemeester, is mainly showcased at the annual Paris Fashion Week. Dolbadarn Castle
Dolbadarn Castle ( ; cy, Castell Dolbadarn ) is a fortification built by the Welsh prince Llywelyn the Great during the early 13th century, at the base of the Llanberis Pass, in northern Wales. The castle was important both militarily and as a symbol of Llywelyn's power and authority. The castle features a large stone keep, which historian Richard Avent considers "the finest surviving example of a Welsh round tower". Baron Hill is a country estate in Beaumaris, Anglesey, Wales. The ruined Baron Hill House and the associated Baron Hill Park were established in 1618 by Sir Richard Bulkeley as the family seat of the influential Bulkeley family.
