Catherine Blake (née Boucher; 25 April 1762 – 18 October 1831) was the wife of the poet, painter and engraver William Blake, and a vital presence and assistant throughout his life. Life Catherine was the last child of market gardener William Boucher (1714–1794) and Mary Davis (1716–1782). Katharine Blake (11 September 1921 – 1 March 1991) was a British actress, born in South Africa with an extensive career in television and films. She was married to director Charles Jarrott. She had two daughters, each by different fathers, Jenny Kastner (Nee Jacobs), with her first husband, actor Anthony Jacobs (father of Martin Jameson, Matthew Jacobs and Amanda Jacobs), and Lindy Greene, with her second husband, actor/director David Greene. She was estranged from both daughters at the time of her death. Blake won the BAFTA for Best Actress for her work in television in 1964. In 1969/1970 she played the character Chris Nourse in first an episode of '' Public Eye'' and then in ''Armchair Theatres ''Wednesday's Child''; one of the first lesbian love affairs to be seen on UK television. Katharine Blake (born 1970) is a British singer, songwriter and musician, originally from London. She was the lead singer of gothic rock band Miranda Sex Garden, and is a founding member, singer, and musical director of the musical group Mediæval Bæbes. She was married to Nick Marsh, the lead singer of rock band Flesh for Lulu, until his death in 2015. Their first child was born in February 2007. Their second daughter was born in 2009. In 2006 ''Stories From the Moon'', an ethereal collaborative concept album, was released. It included contributions from Katharine Blake. In 2015, Katharine Blake and Nick Marsh's collaborative self-titled album ''From The Deep'' was released on Bellissima Records. Katherine Devereux Umsted Blake (July 10, 1858 – February 2, 1950) was an American educator, peace activist, women's rights activist, and writer. She served for 34 years as the first principal of PS 6, a.k.a. The Lillie Devereaux Blake School. Early years and education Katherine Devereux Umsted Blake was born in New York City, on July 10, 1858. Her parents were Frank Geoffrey Quay Umsted and Lillie Devereux Blake. She was educated at Miss Walker's School, and St. Mary's School. She graduated from the Normal College, 1876. She studied at the School of Pedagogy, New York University, 1887–88. William Blake (28 November 1757 – 12 August 1827) was an English poet, painter, and printmaker. Largely unrecognised during his life, Blake is now considered a seminal figure in the history of the poetry and visual art of the Romantic Age. What he called his " prophetic works" were said by 20th-century critic Northrop Frye to form "what is in proportion to its merits the least read body of poetry in the English language".
