Carlsberg (district)
Carlsberg () is an area located straddling the border of Valby and Vesterbro districts in central Copenhagen, Denmark approximately 2.4 km from the City Hall Square. The area emerged when J.C. Jacobsen founded his original brewery in the district in 1847. The first brewing took place on 11 November 1847 and production continued until 30 October 2008, when production was moved to Fredericia in Jutland. The Jacobsen House Brewery is however still located in the district and produces specialty beers. The entire brewery grounds spread over more than 30 hectares and is currently being transformed into a new city district in Copenhagen. The area is dominated by numerous historic and restored 19th- and early 20th-century buildings, many of which have lavish ornamentations, as well as two historic gardens. Carlsberg Station
Carlsberg station () is an S-train station in Copenhagen, Denmark, that serves the Carlsberg area of the Vesterbro/Kongens Enghave district. Situated on the Høje Taastrup radial of the S-train network, it opened on 3 July 2016 and replaced Enghave station, which was located 200m east. History The station was designed by Gottlieb Paludan Architects and constructed for the Carlsberg Byen development company between 2014 and 2016, before being handed over to Banedanmark and DSB for operation. It serves the new residential and retail developments on the former Carlsberg brewery site, as well as the adjacent University College Capital campus; it is expected to become one of the five busiest S-train stations in Copenhagen, with approximately 24,000 travellers per day. Carlsberg () is an ''Ortsgemeinde'' – a municipality belonging to a ''Verbandsgemeinde'', a kind of collective municipality – in the Bad Dürkheim district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Geography Location The municipality lies at the north edge of the Palatinate Forest between the Haardt range in the south and the Autobahn A 6 in the north in the ''Leiningerland'' at an elevation of 285 m above sea level. Carlsberg belongs to the ''Verbandsgemeinde'' of Leiningerland, whose seat is in Grünstadt. The outlying centre of Hertlingshausen lies in the northern Palatinate Forest and is crossed by the river Eckbach, which rises in the part of the municipal area known as ''Kleinfrankreich'' (“Little France”). Carlsberg Fjord
Carlsberg Fjord ( kl, Kangerterajitta Itterterilaq) is a fjord in King Christian X Land, eastern Greenland. Administratively it lies in the Sermersooq Municipality. History This fjord was first noted by British explorer William Scoresby (1789 – 1857), who assumed that it connected with Hurry Inlet to the south. It was first properly surveyed and mapped by Danish Arctic explorer Georg Carl Amdrup during the Carlsberg Foundation Expedition to East Greenland ''(Carlsbergfondet Expedition til Ost-Gronland)'' in 1898–1900. Amdrup named the fjord after the Carlsberg Foundation. Carlsberg Foundation ( da, Carlsbergfondet) was founded by J. C. Jacobsen in 1876, by allocating some of his shares in the Carlsberg Brewery to fund and operate the Carlsberg Laboratory and the Museum of National History at Frederiksborg Palace. The Carlsberg Research Laboratory is a private scientific research center in Copenhagen, Denmark under the Carlsberg Group. It was founded in 1875 by J. C. Jacobsen, the founder of the Carlsberg brewery, with the purpose of advancing biochemical knowledge, especially relating to brewing.
