Zakir Hussain is an Indian actor who primarily appears in Hindi films. He is known for his negative and comic roles. His best-known performances include those of Rashid in Ramgopal Varma's 2005 film '' Sarkar'', Shardul in Sriram Raghavan's 2007 film '' Johnny Gaddaar'' and Prakash Rao in Rohit Shetty's '' Singham Returns''. Early life and background Zakir Hussain was born and brought up in Jani Khurd, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. It was during his studies in Delhi that he first got attracted to the world of theatre and cinema. He started out with "small time" theatre, and then joined the Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts. He then joined the prestigious National School of Drama and graduated in 1993. Chaudhary Zakir Hussain (born 2 October 1962) is an Indian politician and member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He serves as administrator of the Haryana Waqf Board and is the National Vice-President of Bharatiya Janata Party Minority Morcha from Haryana. He is a three term former member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly from Nuh and Taoru. Early life Zakir Hussain is an ethnic Meo. As a member of the Tayyab Husain Clan, he comes from a significant political dynasty in the Mewat region of Haryana and Rajasthan. His grandfather, Yasin Khan, served as Member of Punjab Provincial Assembly and Punjab Legislative Assembly from 1926 to 1946 and 1952 to 1962 respectively. Zakir Hussain Allarakha Qureshi (9March 195115December 2024) was an Indian tabla player, composer, arranger, percussionist, music producer and film actor. The eldest son of esteemed tabla player Alla Rakha, Hussain was widely regarded as the greatest tabla player of his generation and one of its finest percussionists. He produced music across multiple genres and contributed to popularizing Indian classical music to a global audience. Often prefixed by the honorific title of 'Ustad', Hussain was awarded the United States National Endowment for the Arts' National Heritage Fellowship, the highest award given to traditional artists and musicians. Zakir Husain Khan (8 February 1897 – 3 May 1969) was an Indian educationist and politician who served as the vice president of India from 1962 to 1967 and president of India from 13 May 1967 until his death on 3 May 1969. Born in Hyderabad in an Afridi Pashtun family, Husain completed his schooling in Etawah and went on to study at the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College, Aligarh and the University of Berlin from where he obtained a doctoral degree in economics. A close associate of Mahatma Gandhi, Husain was a founding member of the Jamia Millia Islamia which was established as an independent national university in response to the Non-cooperation movement. He served as the university's vice-chancellor from 1926 to 1948. Zakir Husain (, ) IP, JP, PSP, IGP, (2 November 1897 – 24 May 1971) was a Pakistani politician who served as the governor of East Pakistan and Interior Minister of Pakistan, both in the General Ayub Khan military regime. Early life Zakir Husain was born on 2 November 1897 in Ghatchek, Rangunia, Chittagong. After his primary schooling in Rangunia, Chittagong, he was a student of Chittagong Collegiate School. He graduated from Aligarh Muslim University and Dhaka University. Career He was the first Indian Muslim to qualify for the Imperial Police Service of India in 1920.
