Yana Milev
Yana Milev is a German cultural theorist, sociologist, ethnographer, and curator. Life Yana Milev was born in Leipzig, East Germany, the first child of the Bulgarian physician and anthropologist Gancho Milev, who had immigrated to the GDR in the early 1960s, and the Leipzig-based translator and interpreter Karin Fahr-Mileva. Upon completing secondary school in what was then still the GDR she began a course of study in scenography and costume design at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts (HfBK) which she ultimately completed with a diploma conferred after German unification. Thereafter, she undertook postgraduate study as a master student of Günter Hornig. In the final years of the GDR, Milev was active in the country's subcultures. She became known for independent films, performances, and conceptual art. Yana Language
The Yana language (also Yanan) is an extinct language that was formerly spoken by the Yana people, who lived in north-central California between the Feather and Pit rivers in what is now the Shasta and Tehama counties. The last speaker of the southernmost dialect, which is called Yahi, was Ishi, who died in 1916. When the last fluent speaker(s) of the other dialects died is not recorded. Yana is fairly well documented, mostly by Edward Sapir. The names ''Yana'' and ''Yahi'' are derived from ''ya'' "people" plus an obligatory suffix, ''-na'' in the northern two dialects and ''-hi'' or ''-xi'' in the southern two dialects. The Yana Rhinoceros Horn Site (Yana RHS) is an Upper Palaeolithic archaeological site situated near the lower Yana (river), Yana River in northeastern Siberia, Russia, north of the Arctic Circle in the far west of Beringia. Discovered in 2001 after thawing and erosion exposed animal bones and artifacts, the site features a well-preserved cultural layer due to the cold conditions. It includes hundreds of animal bones, ivory pieces, and artifacts, indicating sustained settlement and a relatively advanced level of technological development. Yana, India
Yana is a tourist destination located in forest of Katgal Range, which is also a part of Malenadu region of Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka state in India. Yana is one of the wettest villages in the world. It is the cleanest village in Karnataka and the second cleanest village in India. The two unique rock outcrops after the village are tourist attractions and easily approachable by two routes one from Kumta-Sirsi Highway by a small trek through the thick forests from the nearest road head and another from Sirsi-Ankola Road. Yana is famous for these two massive rock outcrops known as the Bhairaveshwara Shikhara and the Mohini Shikhara ("Shikhara" means "mountain peak"). The huge rocks are composed of solid black, crystalline karst limestone. Bhairaveshwara Shikhara is in height, while the Mohini Shikhara, which is smaller, is in height. The Yana ( rus, Я́на, p=ˈjanə; ) is a river in Sakha in Russia, located between the Lena to the west and the Indigirka to the east. Course It is long, and its drainage basin covers . Including its longest source river, the Sartang, it is long. Its annual discharge totals approximately . Most of this discharge occurs in May and June as the ice on the river breaks up. The Yana freezes up on the surface in October and stays under the ice until late May or early June. In the Verkhoyansk area, it stays frozen to the bottom for 70 to 110 days, and partly frozen for 220 days of the year. The river begins at the confluence of the rivers Sartang and Dulgalakh in the Yana-Oymyakon Highlands. The Yana are a group of Native Americans indigenous to Northern California in the central Sierra Nevada, on the western side of the range.
