Whitespace (programming Language)
Whitespace is an esoteric programming language with syntax where ''only'' whitespace characters (space, tab and linefeed) have meaning contrasting typical languages that largely ignore whitespace characters. As a consequence of its syntax, Whitespace source code can be contained within the whitespace of code written in a language that ignores whitespace making the text a polyglot. Whitespace is an imperative, stack-based language. The programmer can push arbitrary-width integer values onto a stack and access a heap to store data. An interpreter, along with its Haskell source code, is provided by the Whitespace creators. Whitespace Character
A whitespace character is a character data element that represents white space when text is rendered for display by a computer. For example, a ''space'' character (, ASCII 32) represents blank space such as a word divider in a Western script. A printable character results in output when rendered, but a whitespace character does not. Instead, whitespace characters define the layout of text to a limited degree, interrupting the normal sequence of rendering characters next to each other. The output of subsequent characters is typically shifted to the right (or to the left for right-to-left script) or to the start of the next line. The effect of multiple sequential whitespace characters is cumulative such that the next printable character is rendered at a location based on the accumulated effect of preceding whitespace characters. In telecommunications, white spaces refer to radio frequencies allocated to a broadcasting service but not used locally. National and international bodies assign frequencies for specific uses and, in most cases, license the rights to broadcast over these frequencies. This frequency allocation process creates a bandplan which for technical reasons assigns white space between used radio bands or channels to avoid interference. In this case, while the frequencies are unused, they have been specifically assigned for a purpose, such as a guard band. Most commonly however, these white spaces exist naturally between used channels, since assigning nearby transmissions to immediately adjacent channels will cause destructive interference to both. TV White Space database, also commonly referred to as (TV) geolocation database, is an entity that controls the TV spectrum utilization by unlicensed white spaces devices within a determined geographical area.
