Walton High School, Milton Keynes
Walton High is a large academy school with two campuses located in the Walnut Tree and Brooklands areas of eastern Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire, England. Walton High’s sixth form centre, Post-16, is one of the more successful in the area on some measures, attracting pupils from across Milton Keynes. As of January 2018 there were 1,923 pupils. By 2022, Walton High is expected to grow to be one of the largest schools in the country with 3,000 pupils across both campuses. The school has consistently good Ofsted reports: in 2018 it was rated "Good". The school was previously a specialist Business and Enterprise College and had foundation status. Walton High converted to academy status on 1 July 2011, becoming the founding member of the Milton Keynes Education Trust (MKET) – the first multi-academy trust established in Milton Keynes. Walton High School formerly ''Nelson Grammar School'' (prior to 1972) was located on ''Oxford Road'', Nelson in Lancashire, England. The school existed between 1972 and 2006. The school became Pendle Vale College in September 2006, and construction of the new building commenced July 2006. Construction was finished in time for the new term on 7 September 2008. History The building had four different school names over its c.80 years. First, when the new building opened on Monday 14 October 1929, the school was known as Nelson Municipal Secondary School. In 1945, the named changed to Nelson Grammar School, then to Walton High School in 1972. Finally, in its last year as a building, the name changed to ''Pendle Vale College''. Destruction The Walton High School Complex had four buildings surrounded by a field and an all weather playing pitch. The school's main building hosted academic classes. Walton High School is a large mixed secondary school and sixth form serving a community in the southern part of Stafford, England. There are approximately 1316 students on roll. The school catchment area is in a circumvadic province around the school. Previously a community school administered by Staffordshire County Council, in September 2016 Walton High School converted to academy status. The school is now the lead school in the Walton Multi-Academy Trust. Controversy In 2003 an illegal spy camera was placed by staff. Permission was not obtained for this camera, and its installation contravened child safety guidelines. It was said that it was installed to prevent weekend thefts. However, this camera was discovered on a Wednesday and therefore was still in place during weekdays. Walton High School was a public four-year high school located in the Jerome Park neighborhood of the Bronx in New York City. Originally an all-girl institution, Walton became co-educational in 1977. Walton, Bayside High School, Samuel J. Tilden High School, Abraham Lincoln High School, John Adams High School, Andrew Jackson High School, and Grover Cleveland High School were all built during the Great Depression from one set of blueprints, to save money. Walton's colors were sky blue and white. Its motto, ''Semper fidelis'', means 'always faithful'. The school seal was an open book supported by the torch of learning, and the school crest contains the head of Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom. Walton-Verona High School is a public high school located at 16 School Road in Walton, Kentucky, United States. It is in the Walton-Verona Independent Schools district. History The school's history dates back to 1880. At that time, there were two school districts, one in Verona and another in Walton. The two consolidated into one school district in 1935. A grade school was maintained in Verona, and a high school in Walton became known as the Walton-Verona Independent Schools.
