Varzim S.C.
Varzim Sport Club () is a Portuguese football club based in Póvoa de Varzim. The club was founded on 25 December 1915, and has played at the Estádio do Varzim Sport Club since its foundation. The club plays in Liga 3, following relegation in the 2021–22 Liga Portugal 2. The club has played for a total of 21 seasons at the top level of Portuguese football, eight seasons in a row from 1963. It has reached the semi-finals of the Taça de Portugal on three occasions, in 1978, 1980 and 1985. Varzim has won six major titles in its history, which include the Segunda Divisão four times and the Terceira Divisão and Liga Intercalar once. The club usually plays with over 70% of players from its youth ranks. The club youth academy is notable for producing Portuguese international footballers like António Lima Pereira, Bruno Alves, Hélder Postiga and Salvador Agra. Póvoa De Varzim
Póvoa de Varzim () is a Portugal, Portuguese city in Norte Region, Portugal, Northern Portugal and sub-region of Greater Porto, from its city centre. It sits in a sandy coastal plain, a cuspate foreland, halfway between the Minho River, Minho and Douro rivers. In 2001, there were 63,470 inhabitants, with 42,396 living in the city proper. The city expanded southwards, to Vila do Conde, and there are about 100,000 inhabitants in the urban area alone. Fábio José Ferreira Pacheco (born 26 May 1988) is a Portuguese footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Varzim. He made 182 Primeira Liga appearances for Paços de Ferreira, Vitória de Setúbal, Marítimo and Moreirense, and also surpassed a century of appearances in the second tier for Oliveirense, Tondela and Moreirense, winning the title with the latter two clubs. 2012–13 Segunda Liga
The 2012–13 Segunda Liga was the 23rd season of the second-tier of football in Portugal. This season marked a series of changes in the league overall. The league's name was changed back to Segunda Liga from the previous Liga de Honra. A total of 22 teams contested the league, up from 16 in the previous season; 14 of which contested the 2011–12 season, two of which were promoted from the Portuguese Second Division (including a reserve team), one of which was relegated from the 2011–12 Primeira Liga, and five of which were new reserve teams of Primeira Liga clubs. The reserve teams were not eligible for promotion to the Primeira Liga. André Filipe Brás André (born 26 August 1989) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Liga Portugal 2 club Leixões. After starting his career at Varzim, he made 262 Primeira Liga appearances for Vitória de Guimarães and Porto, winning a league title with the latter in 2018.
