The municipality is located on the Haugalandet peninsula on the northern side of the Boknafjorden, just east of the towns of Kopervik and Haugesund (town), Haugesund. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Aksdal. Susort is a village in Tysvær municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located along the eastern shore of the Førlandsfjorden, about south of the village of Tysvær. The European route E39 highway runs just outside the village. The word is an old version of the word ''svarttrost'' which means " blackbird". For a long time, Susort was a place where people moved away from, until more recently. Skjold (municipality)
Skjold is a former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The municipality encompassed all the area surrounding the Grindafjorden and Skjoldafjorden. The area is located in the present-day municipalities of Vindafjord and Tysvær. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Skjold where the Skjold Church is located. History The parish of Skjold was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt law). Dueland or Dualand is a village in Tysvær municipality, Norway. It is located just west of the larger village of Skjoldastraumen. History It was previously located in Skjold municipality. Yrke
Yrke or Yrkje is a village in Tysvær municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located at the western end of the Yrkefjorden, a branch off of the main Vindafjorden. The village lies on a small isthmus between the Yrkefjorden and the Skjoldafjorden, along the County Road 515, the only road over the isthmus connecting the peninsula to the mainland. Nedstrand (locally, ''Stranda'') is a village in Tysvær municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is on the Nedstrand peninsula's southeast coast, at the confluence of the Nedstrandsfjorden and Vindafjorden.
