Tucumán Province
Tucumán () is the most densely populated, and the second-smallest by land area, of the provinces of Argentina. Located in the northwest of the country, the province has the capital of San Miguel de Tucumán, often shortened to Tucumán. Neighboring provinces are, clockwise from the north: Salta Province, Salta, Santiago del Estero Province, Santiago del Estero and Catamarca Province, Catamarca. It is nicknamed El Jardín de la República (''The Garden of the Republic''), as it is a highly productive agricultural area. Etymology The word ''Tucumán'' probably originated from the Quechua languages. It may represent a deformation of the term ''Yucumán'', which denotes the "place of origin of several rivers". Paula Omodeo (born 19 August 1986) is an Argentine politician, currently sitting as a National Deputy elected in Tucumán Province since 2021. Pablo Raúl Yedlin (born 16 July 1966) is an Argentine physician and politician, currently serving as National Senator for Tucumán since 2021. He previously served as Minister of Public Health of Tucumán, under Governor José Alperovich, as General Secretary of Government under Governor Juan Luis Manzur, and as a National Deputy from 2017 to 2021.
