Transnistria
Transnistria, officially known as the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and locally as Pridnestrovie, is a Landlocked country, landlocked Transnistria conflict#International recognition of Transnistria, breakaway state internationally recognized as part of Moldova. It controls most of the narrow strip of land between the Dniester river and the Moldova–Ukraine border, as well as some land on the other side of the river's bank. Its Capital city, capital and largest city is Tiraspol. Transnistria is officially designated by the Republic of Moldova as the Administrative-Territorial Units of the Left Bank of the Dniester () or as ("Left (Bank) of the Dniester"). Vadim Krasnoselsky
Vadim Nikolayevich Krasnoselsky (; ; born 14 April 1970) is a Transnistrian politician who is the 3rd and current President of Transnistria. Previously, he served as a member of the Supreme Council of Transnistria from the 7th district, as 6th Speaker of the Supreme Council (2015–2016) and the 7th Minister of the Interior. Biography On 14 April 1970 Vadim Krasnoselsky was born to parents Nikolai Vasilyevich Krasnoselsky (1939–2016) and Antonina Grigorievna Krasnoselskaya (born 1945) in the village of Dauriya, in the Borzinsky district (now the Zabaykalsky District) of the Russian SFSR of the Soviet Union. This area is located in the Russian Far East. Krasnoselsky came from a military family. In 1978 his father was transferred to a military base in Bender in the Moldavian SSR. Tiraspol
Tiraspol (, ; also /; , ; , ) is the capital and largest city of Transnistria, a breakaway state of Moldova, where it is the third-largest city. The city is located on the eastern bank of the Dniester River. Tiraspol is a regional hub of culture, economy, tourism, and light industry, such as furniture and electrical goods production. The modern city of Tiraspol was founded by the Russian generalissimo Alexander Suvorov in 1792, although the area had been inhabited for thousands of years by varying ethnic groups. The city celebrates its anniversary every year on 14 October. Transnistria (officially the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic or PMR), a breakaway state internationally recognised as part of Moldova, has a state flag, a presidential standard, and a customs flag. Additionally, the flag of Russia shares equal legal status with the state flag. Transnistria's state flag law outlines the design and use of the state flag. The state flag is a horizontal triband of red, green and red, in a 3:2:3 ratio, Charge (heraldry), charged in the Canton (flag), canton with a gold hammer and sickle crowned by a gold-bordered, five-pointed red star. The design is equivalent to that of the flag of the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic, which Transnistria broke away from in 1990. National Anthem Of Transnistria (orchestral Instrumental Version) (one Verse)
The State Anthem of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, known by its incipit "We Sing the Praises of Transnistria" and also simply known as the Anthem of Transnistria, was written by Boris Parmenov, Nicholas Bozhko and Vitaly Pishchenko, and composed by Boris Alexandrovich Alexandrov. The anthem has lyrics in all three official languages of Transnistria: Russian, " Moldavian" (Romanian), and Ukrainian. They are, however, not all literal translations of one another. The origin of the anthem was from the Russian patriotic song "Long Live Our State", a 1943 composition that was one of the proposed songs to be the State Anthem of the Soviet Union. President Of Transnistria
The president of Transnistria, officially the president of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, is the highest elected official of Transnistria. The president of the republic is the country's head of state and is also commander in chief of its armed forces. Per the Constitution of Transnistria, he also represents the country abroad. The president is elected by the citizens of the republic on the basis of universal, equal and direct suffrage by secret ballot for a term of five years. Coat Of Arms Of Transnistria
Transnistria, a breakaway state internationally recognised as part of Moldova, has a state emblem, adopted officially on 18 July 2000 alongside the state flag. It constitutes a remodeled version of the former Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic's emblem, which was replaced by the internationally recognized Moldovan government after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. The only major pictorial change made in the Transnistrian version involves the addition of waves, representing the River Dniester. The chairman of the government of the Pridnestrovian Moldovan Republic is the head of government of the unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldovan Republic (Transnistria), that is ''de jure'' part of Moldova. The current prime minister is Aleksandr Rosenberg, since 30 May 2022, under the presidency of Vadim Krasnoselsky. 2015 Transnistrian Census
The 2015 Transnistrian census was organized in the unrecognized state of Transnistria in 2015. It was held after Moldova, internationally recognized as the owner of the state's territory, made a census in 2014. Census results According to the census results, Transnistria's population was of 475,373 people in 2015. This represented a population decline of 14.47% (or nearly 80,000 people) since the 2004 Transnistrian census, which is an amount similar to the population of the second largest Transnistrian-controlled city, Bender (Tighina). The ethnic composition results were the following: * Russians: 29.1% * Moldovans: 28.6% * Ukrainians: 22.9% * Bulgarians: 2.4% * Gagauz: 1.1% * Belarusians: 0.5% * Transnistrians: 0.2% * Others: 1.4% This census was the first one in Transnistria in which the population was given the option to identify as "Transnistrian", which more than 1,000 people did. Aleksandr Rozenberg
Aleksandr Nikolayevich Rozenberg (; born 18 October 1967) is a Transnistrian politician serving as the Prime Minister of Transnistria since 30 May 2022. Biography Aleksandr Rozenberg was born on 18 October 1967 in Ladyzhyn, present day Ukraine, but he grew up in Grigoriopol. He is Jewish. He graduated from the Pridnestrovian Energy College in 1986 with a degree in electrical engineering and from the State Agrarian University of Moldova with a similar degree in 1994. He began his career working on a state farm in 1986, and then worked as the Minister of Justice. In March 2012, Rozenberg began to run a local bakery in the Transnistrian capital of Tiraspol. He later became the Transnistrian Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources on 20 January 2022, and served until his appointment as Prime Minister of Transnistria on 27 May 2022 by President Vadim Krasnoselsky, following the resignation of Aleksandr Martynov.
