Television In Slovakia
Television stations in Slovakia broadcast in both DVB-T format (MUX-2 and MUX-3) and DVB-T2 format (MUX-1 and MUX-4). Broadcasting is mostly in the Slovak, state-owned channels have some dedicated broadcasting for ethnic minorities (always subtitled). Foreign language (with the exception of Czech) movies and shows are dubbed (rarely subtitled). Czech production is often broadcast in original, with the exception of juvenile programs. Sometimes, foreign language movies are broadcast with Czech dubbing. Czech television channels are also popular in Slovakia, received in paid DVB-T2 service (only ČT1, ČT2, Nova International, Prima Plus and Prima Cool), directly in border regions (all channels) or carried by cable companies and satellite operators (almost all channels). Nova Sport 1
Nova Sport 1 is focused primarily on mainstream sports and broadcasts sporting events and sport-related programming in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It has broadcasting licenses for major sport leagues and events including the National Hockey League (NHL). Nova Sport also produces various weekly sports shows and magazines, as well as locally produced daily sports news programs in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Nova Sport 2 focuses on popular sports that have not yet been broadcast to a similar extent, including the National Basketball Association (NBA), Darts tournaments, Bellator MMA and also international rugby. Bánovce nad Bebravou (, ) is a town in Slovakia, in the Trenčín Region. Names The name is derived from the personal name or title Bán meaning "the village of Bán's people". Trnava
Trnava (, , ; , also known by other #Names and etymology, alternative names) is a city in western Slovakia, to the northeast of Bratislava, on the Trnávka river. Pezinok
Pezinok (; in the local dialect ''Pezinek''; ; ; ) is a town in southwestern Slovakia. It is roughly northeast of Bratislava and, as of December 2023, had a population of 24,443. Prima Love is the first niche channel aimed at young, active women in the Czech Republic. The channel, which launched on March 8, 2011, is owned by Modern Times Group and currently has a reach of approximately 94% of the country's 10.5 million people and broadcasts 18 hours per day. Prima Love showcases top foreign series, soap-operas and movies targeted at young female viewers. Prima Cool is a private Czech television station. Prima Cool is TV Prima's second channel. It is targeted primarily at young male audiences. Prima Cool launched on 1 April 2009 as TV Prima's new digital channel. It is available on Czech DVB-T multiplex 2, where it is freely broadcast (covering up to 72% of the population of the Czech republic, mainly in Bohemia). Prima Plus
Prima SK is a channel of the FTV Prima group, whose broadcasts are directed to the territory of Slovakia. Prima SK began broadcasting in Slovakia as Prima Plus on 23 January 2017. The program is mainly composed of Prima Television's own creations. The commercial representative of Prima SK is JOJ Group. According to the broadcast schedule, the Prima SK program consists mainly of programs created by Prima Television, whether they are serials, news programs, entertainment shows, culinary or hobby programs. In 2017, Prima Plus was available from operators Skylink, Digi SK, UPC SK, and others, making it available to approximately 1.4 million Slovak households with pay TV services. TV Nova (Czech Republic)
TV Nova is a commercial television station in the Czech Republic. It began broadcasting in February 1994 as the first privately held nationwide Czech TV station. Its first CEO was Vladimír Železný. It quickly achieved the largest market share in the country and remained in this position until the early 2010s.
