Television In Romania
Television in Romania started in August 1955. State television started to broadcast on 31 December 1956. The second television channel followed in 1968, but between 1985 and 1990, there was only one Romanian channel before the return of the second channel. Color television was introduced in 1983. Private broadcasters arrived in December 1991, with SOTI which was the first private nationwide television station in Central and Eastern Europe. Romania has the highest penetration rates for pay television in the world, with over 98% of all households watching television through cable or satellite. Television market Romanian market is dominated by two large groups: Central European Media Enterprises Ltd. and Intact Media Group, with PRO TV and Antena 1 as main channels and Kanal D also gain audience starting 2014 as the third channel. Telekom Romania
Telekom Romania Mobile Communications S.A. is a mobile network company in Romania, wholly owned by OTE, which in turn is controlled by Deutsche Telekom, operating under Telekom brand. Telekom Romania Mobile had 3.5 million subscribers with 15% market share as of July 2021. The network operated together with Telekom Romania Communications (which traces its ancestry back to , later renamed Romtelecom) from 2014 until 2021 under the same brand Telekom. Both companies were majority owned by OTE, which in turn is controlled by Deutsche Telekom. On November 6, 2020, OTE agreed to sell the 54% stake in the fixed network company Telekom Romania Communications to Orange Romania for €295 million. In order for the transaction to be approved by the authorities, OTE has committed to buy the remaining 30% of shares in Telekom Romania Mobile, which operates the mobile network. History (known as Sky History in the UK and Ireland) is a European Documentary film, documentary television channel which broadcasts programs related to History, historical events and persons. There are also reality television, ufology and paranormal programs. It is a joint venture between A&E Networks, Hearst Networks UK and Sky Group with localized channels across Europe. TVT Media is responsible for signal distribution in Europe, with local subsidiaries of A&E Networks as distribution representatives on the continent. Crime & Investigation, stylized as Crime + Investigation, is the television channel feed of the eponymous American channel owned by A&E Networks broadcast in most of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Based in England in the United Kingdom, it is owned by A&E Networks UK (a joint venture of A&E Networks and Sky Group). The channel primarily broadcasts true crime programming, and edits European versions of the original Crime & Investigation channel in the U.S. TVT Media is responsible for the signal distribution across mainland Europe, and local subsidiaries of A&E Networks are the distribution representatives across Europe.
