Television In Austria
Television in Austria was Timeline of the introduction of television in countries, introduced in 1955. The country uses DVB-T for broadcasting. Analog television was completely shut down on 7 June 2011. Austrian television was monopolised by public broadcasting television stations until 2000. ARD (broadcaster)
ARD is a joint organisation of Germany's regional Public broadcasting, public-service broadcasters. It was founded in 1950 in West Germany to represent the common interests of the new, decentralised, post-war broadcasting services—in particular the introduction of a joint television network. ARD has a budget of €6.9 billion, 22,612 employees and is the largest public broadcaster network in the world. The budget comes primarily from a mandatory licence fee which every household, company and public institution, regardless of television ownership, is required by law to pay. For an ordinary household the fee is €18.36 per month, as of 2023. Households living on Welfare in Germany, welfare are exempt from the fee. FS1 (Television)
FS1 (or FS1 - Community TV Salzburg) is a non-commercial community television channel in Salzburg (Austria). Next to the Community TV ''okto'' in Vienna and ''dorf i''n Linz, it is the third non-commercial broadcaster with a 24-hour full (as opposed to specialized) program in Austria. Since the launch on 16 February 2012, the channel has been broadcasting via DVB-C in many areas of the state of Salzburg. Over IPTV, the station is available nationwide. History The original idea and an impulse to create FS1 was given by the Salzburg free radio station Radiofabrik. The project was introduced to the public in 2009 and designed on the legal basis of the Non-Commercial Radio and Television Broadcasting Funding Initiative (NKRF) of the Austrian Republic, created in 2010. Sky Krimi
Sky Krimi is a German television channel dedicated to crime series. It mostly features original German language productions. It started out as ''Krimi & Co'' on the DF1 satellite platform. DF1 had several channels dedicated to specific TV-show genres, including soap channel ''Herz & Co'' and comedy channel ''Comedy & Co''. When DF1 became Premiere World in October 1999, the sister channels were rebranded. In May 2002, Krimi & Co became ''Premiere Krimi''. Kanal Telemedial
Kanal Telemedial was an Austrian television channel that described itself as the “first spiritual broadcaster in Europe”. Thomas Hornauer was the managing director and sole shareholder. History Kanal Telemedial initially went on air on 29 June 2006 under the name Primetime. On 5 December 2007, the station changed its concept and name to Kanal Telemedial. This also marked the start of the “Telemediale Zeit”, the time that has passed since the station was redesigned and was continuously displayed on several monitors in the background of the studio.
