Bagn
Bagn is the administrative centre of Sør-Aurdal Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The village is located in the Begnadalen valley, about to the southeast of the town of Fagernes. The river Begna runs through the village on its way through the Valdres region. The river has a tall waterfall at Bagn. The European route E16 highway passes through the village on its way between Bergen and Oslo. The village has a population (2021) of 627 and a population density of . Bagn Church is located in the village. The Valdrestunet mall and the Bagn Bygdesamling museaum are both located in the area as well. Begna or Begna bruk is a village in Sør-Aurdal Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The village is located in the Begnadalen valley, along the north shore of the river Begna, about to the southeast of the village of Bagn which is the municipal centre of Sør-Aurdal. The European route E16 highway runs along the southern shore of the river, accessible by a nearby bridge. The village lies about to the northwest of the municipal (and county) border. Innlandet
Innlandet is a Counties of Norway, county in Norway. It was created on 1 January 2020 with the merger of the old counties of Oppland and Hedmark (Jevnaker Municipality and Lunner Municipality were transferred to the neighboring county of Viken (Norwegian county), Viken on the same date). The new county has an area of , making it the largest county in Norway after the division of the old Troms og Finnmark county in 2024. Valdres
Valdres () is a traditional district in central, southern Norway, situated between the districts of Gudbrandsdalen and Hallingdal. The region of Valdres consists of the six municipalities of Nord-Aurdal, Sør-Aurdal, Øystre Slidre, Vestre Slidre, Vang and Etnedal. Valdres has about 18,000 inhabitants and is known for its excellent trout fishing and the local dialect. Its main road is E16 and Fylkesveg 51. Begnadalen or Begndalen is a valley in Norway. The valley runs through Sør-Aurdal Municipality in Innlandet county and Ringerike Municipality in Buskerud county. The long valley follows the river Begna from Bagn to the lake Sperillen. The European route E16 passes through the valley. Hedalen
Hedalen is a valley in Sør-Aurdal Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The long valley is a side valley which branches off the main Begnadalen. The river Urula flows through the valley. The central part of the valley is located about to the northwest of Nes i Ådal, about so the southeast of Bagn, and about to the east of Nesbyen. The valley is characterized by coniferous forests, agricultural properties, and scattered private homes, extends west and northwards from Nes i Ådal at the south end of the Begnadalen valley as it heads towards the Vassfaret valley. Formannskapsdistrikt
() was the name of a Norwegian self-governing municipality. The name was used from the establishment these municipalities in 1838 until the name fell out of use in 1863. The municipalities had their legal basis from two laws enacted on 14 January 1837. The laws established two types of ; one for cities () and one for rural districts (). These districts were mostly based on the former parishes. City municipalities had a monopoly on trade in both the municiality and for surrounding districts.
