Sutter Family
The Sutter family, originally from Viking, Alberta, Canada, are one of the most famous families in the National Hockey League (NHL). Six brothers: Brent Sutter, Brent, Brian Sutter, Brian, Darryl Sutter, Darryl, Duane Sutter, Duane, Rich Sutter, Rich and Ron Sutter, Ron, reached the NHL in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Four brothers, Brent, Brian, Darryl and Duane, have gone on to become coaches and general managers as well, with Brian, Brent and Darryl, each having a stint as head coach of the Calgary Flames. All brothers played for either the Blackhawks–Blues rivalry, Chicago Blackhawks or the St. Louis Blues at one point or another. A seventh brother named Gary is said by his brothers to have been the best hockey player of all seven boys. Viking, Alberta
Viking () is a town in central Alberta, Canada. It is at the intersection of Alberta Highway 14, Highway 14 (Poundmaker Trail) and Alberta Highway 36, Highway 36 (Veterans Memorial Highway), approximately east of Edmonton. The town also lends its name to the Viking Formation, an oil bearing stratigraphical unit. History Viking was settled in 1909 by Scandinavian settlers Sivert Hafso and Ole Sorenson, from Norway. On 7 July 2005, the community ice arena was severely damaged by fire. Construction began on a new arena, called the "Viking Carena Complex" and was completed on 17 August 2007. Viking celebrated its centennial in 2009. Geography Climate Viking experiences a humid continental climate (Köppen climate classification ''Dfb''). Summers are warm with moderate rainfall while winters are long and bitterly cold.
