Strausberg
Strausberg () is a Town#Germany, town in Brandenburg, in eastern Germany, located east of Berlin. With a population of about 27,000 it is the largest town in the district of Märkisch-Oderland. History Strausberg was founded ''circa'' 1240, and in 1333 its first town hall was built. From 1373 to 1415, it was part of the Bohemian Crown. Today, a historic defensive wall borders the old town. In the 19th century, industrialization took place and the town developed a local labour movement, including union structures and a local branch of both the Social Democratic and the Communist Party of Germany. In World War II Strausberg housed a switching centre for teleprinter links encrypted by the Lorenz cipher from Hitler and the High Command to various Army Group commanders (see Fish (cryptography)). Straussee
The Straussee is a German lake located in Strausberg, Brandenburg. It is situated about north-east of the city of Berlin. The town of Strausberg occupies the eastern shore of the lake, whilst the forest of the Strausberger Forest is on the western shore. Märkisch-Oderland is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the eastern part of Brandenburg, Germany. Neighboring this district are (from the north clockwise) the district of Barnim, the country of Poland, the district-free city of Frankfurt (Oder), the district of Oder-Spree and the '' Bundesland'' of Berlin. The administrative seat is the town of Seelow but the largest town is Strausberg. The Berlin/Brandenburg metropolitan region () or capital region () is one of eleven metropolitan regions of Germany, consisting of the entire territories of the state of Berlin and the surrounding state of Brandenburg. Fish (cryptography)
Fish (sometimes capitalised as FISH) was the UK's GC&CS Bletchley Park codename for any of several German teleprinter stream ciphers used during World War II. Enciphered teleprinter traffic was used between German High Command and Army Group commanders in the field, so its intelligence value ( Ultra) was of the highest strategic value to the Allies. This traffic normally passed over landlines, but as German forces extended their geographic reach beyond western Europe, they had to resort to wireless transmission. Bletchley Park decrypts of messages enciphered with the Enigma machines revealed that the Germans called one of their wireless teleprinter transmission systems "" ('sawfish') which led British cryptographers to refer to encrypted German radiotelegraphic traffic as "Fish." Rüdersdorf is a Municipalities of Germany, municipality in the district Märkisch-Oderland, in Brandenburg, Germany, near Berlin. Rehfelde
Rehfelde is a municipality in the district Märkisch-Oderland, in Brandenburg, Germany. History With the foundation of a plywood mill in 1906, the first manufacturing company came to Rehfelde. On September 3, 1907 the night the express train from Insterburg to Berlin derailed at a speed of about 85 km/h near Rehfelde station. On July 12, 1908 set up twelve citizens a volunteer fire department. In the early 20th century, the population rose sharply. This was due to rising rents in Berlin, which led to an increased influx. During World War I 24 community residents lost their lives. In 1922, the local branch of the Communist Party of Germany, five years later the Social Democratic Party were founded.
