Sport in Lima is well supported by venues and clubs. The city of Lima has varied sports venues for association football, volleyball and basketball, many of which are located within private clubs. A popular sport among Limeans is ''fronton'', a racquet sport similar to squash invented in Lima. The city is home to seven international-class golf courses. Equestrianism, Equestrian is popular in Lima for which there are private clubs as well as horse racing which is centered on the Hipódromo de Monterrico. The most popular sport in Lima by far is association football with many club teams being located in the city. Club Centro Deportivo Municipal, commonly known as Deportivo Municipal, is a Peruvian Association football, football club based in Lima, Peru. Lima Cricket And Football Club
Lima Cricket & Football Club is a Peruvian professional sports club based in the country's capital city of Lima. Lima Cricket claims to be both the oldest cricket club in South America, and the oldest association football-practising club in Peru and the Americas, having been founded in 1859 by the city's British community. The football team currently participates in the local league of San Isidro District, Lima. The club is the ''de facto'' home of the Peru Cricket Association, and hosts the ''National T20 Cricket League'' during the summer months of January to April. Campo de Marte Airport is the first airport built in São Paulo, Brazil, opened in 1929. It is named after Champ de Mars, in Paris, which in turn got its name from Campus Martius, in Rome. Coliseo Amauta
Centro de Convenciones Agua Viva (formerly known as Coliseo Amauta) is the biggest multi-use indoor arena in Peru, located in the southern zone of the Lima District in Lima, Peru. The arena has a capacity for 20,000 people, which can vary depending on use. It originally opened in 1946. It is the largest covered arena in Peru, today it is being renovated by its current owner, Agua Viva Church. Estadio Universidad San Marcos
The Estadio de la UNMSM is a multi-purpose stadium located in Lima, Peru, belonging to the National University of San Marcos. It was inaugurated on May 13, 1951, with a seating capacity of 32,000 and covers an area of 48,782 m2.
