Spiraxidae is a family (biology), family of predatory air-breathing land snails, terrestrial molluscs, terrestrial pulmonate gastropods in the superfamily Testacelloidea (according to the Taxonomy of the Gastropoda (Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005), taxonomy of the Gastropoda by Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005). Distribution The distribution of this family is Neotropical. Taxonomy 2005 taxonomy The family Spiraxidae is classified within the informal group Sigmurethra, itself belonging to the clade Stylommatophora within the clade Eupulmonata (according to the Taxonomy of the Gastropoda (Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005), taxonomy of the Gastropoda by Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005).
