Spikers' Turf
The Spikers' Turf is the top-level men's semi-professional volleyball league in the Philippines organized by the Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. (Sports Vision), established in 2015. History The league had its beginnings in 2014, when the Shakey's V-League introduced a men's division during its Shakey's V-League 11th Season Reinforced Open Conference, 21st conference. The following year, Sports Vision decided to spin off the men's division as a separate league, giving birth to the Spikers' Turf. In late-2016, Sports Vision announced that the league be merged back in the 2017 season with the Shakey's V-League (which was renamed as the Premier Volleyball League; PVL). The men's division in the PVL ended with the 2018 Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference, 2018 PVL Collegiate Conference as its final tournament. The 2015 Spikers' Turf season was the inaugural season of the men's volleyball league Spikers' Turf, the counterpart of the women's Shakey's V-League. In 2014, the Shakey's V-League introduced a men's division during its 21st conference. The following year, Sports Vision, the organizers of the Shakey's V-League decided to spin off the men's vision as a separate tournament, giving birth to the Spikers' Turf. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a contagious disease caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. In January 2020, the disease spread worldwide, resulting in the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2018 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference is the revival conference of the Spikers' Turf. After the 2016 season of the Spikers' Turf, its affiliate league, the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), assumed the tournaments of the Spikers' Turf under its men's division until the collegiate conference of year 2018. The tournament began on October 6, 2018 at the Blue Eagle Gym, Ateneo de Manila University campus, Quezon City, Philippines. The Spikers' Turf 2nd Season Open Conference is the 4th conference of the Spikers' Turf, the Philippines' only men's indoor volleyball league in the country and the first conference for its second season. 2015 Spikers' Turf Open Conference
The Spikers' Turf 1st Season Open Conference is the inaugural conference of Spikers' Turf. The opening ceremony was held on April 5, 2015 with the first match of volleyball game at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan, Metro Manila. There were eight (8) competing teams in this conference. Tournament Format Preliminaries (PL) Single Round-robin. Top four (4) teams qualified for the Semifinals.
