Skiptvet
Skiptvet is a municipality in Østfold county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Meieribyen. Skiptvet was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see ''formannskapsdistrikt''). General information Name The municipality (originally the parish) is named after the old Skiptvet farm (Old Norse: ''Skipþveit'' and/or ''Skygþveit'') because the first church was built here. The meaning of the first element(s) is not known, and the last element is ''þveit'' 'clearing in the woods'. Prior to 1889, the name was written ''Skibtvet''. Coat-of-arms The coat-of-arms is from modern times. They were granted on 27 November 1981. The arms show a silver dragon on a red background. The dragon is derived from a local legend, in which a dragon went to sleep in the local churchyard every morning. In the evening the dragon went back to the forest, where it had its lair. Østfold
Østfold () is a county in Eastern Norway, which from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2023 was part of Viken. Østfold borders Akershus and southwestern Sweden (Västra Götaland County and Värmland), while Buskerud and Vestfold are on the other side of Oslofjord. The county's administrative seat is Sarpsborg. The county controversially became part of the newly established Viken County on 1 January 2020. On 1 January 2024, Østfold was re-established as an independent county, however without the former municipality of Rømskog, which was amalgamated with the Akershus municipality Aurskog-Høland in 2020. Many manufacturing facilities are situated here, such as the world's most advanced biorefinery, Borregaard in Sarpsborg. Fredrikstad has shipyards. Svein Olav Agnalt
Svein Olav Agnalt (born 20 July 1949) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party (Norway), Labour Party. He was born in Oslo. After taking the examen artium he was hired in the newspaper ''Øvre Smaalenene'' in 1969. He was also employed in the Co-operative Housing Federation of Norway before being hired in ''Østfold-Posten'' in 1978. He served as editor-in-chief until 1985. He served as a deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway from Østfold (Storting constituency), Østfold during the term 1977–1981. Locally, he chaired the Workers' Youth League (Norway), Workers' Youth League in Østfold, was a board member of Østfold Labour Party and was a member of Østfold County Municipality, Østfold county council (Norway), county council.
