Sibiu Open
The Sibiu Open is a tennis List of tennis tournaments, tournament held in Sibiu, Romania since 2012. In early 2012 BRD – Groupe Société Générale was announced as the sponsor of four Romanian ATP Challenger Tour tournaments with Sibiu chosen to host a brand new tournament, the ''BRD Sibiu Challenger'', as it was named prior to the 2013 change of sponsor. Sibiu ( , , , Hungarian: ''Nagyszeben'', , Transylvanian Saxon: ''Härmeschtat'' or ''Hermestatt'') is a city in central Romania, situated in the historical region of Transylvania. Located some north-west of Bucharest, the city straddles the Cibin River, a tributary of the Olt River. Now the seat of Sibiu County, between 1692 and 1791 and 1849–65 Sibiu was the capital of the Principality of Transylvania. Until 1876, the Hecht hause in Sibiu served as the seat of the Transylvanian Saxon University. Cedrik-Marcel Stebe (; born 9 October 1990) is a German professional tennis player. He reached his career-high singles ranking of world No. 71 in February 2012. Career 2011: Grand Slam and Top 100 debuts He reached his first ATP World Tour quarterfinal at the 2011 MercedesCup in Stuttgart, Germany, where he beat Nikolay Davydenko and Fabio Fognini.
