Sethu (actor)
Sethu G Pillai is an Indian actor who appears in South Indian language films. He was born in Mavelikkara, Alappuzha district, Kerala. He has acted in films including ''Mynaa'', '' 100 Degree Celsius'' and '' Manadhil Maayam Seidhai''. He has produced movies including '' Kokki'' and '' Karuppusamy Kuththagaithaarar''. Career Sethu started his cinema career in the Tamil film industry with the movie ''Mynaa'', released in November, 2010 and produced by John Max and directed by Prabhu Solomon. Sethu played the role of DSP Bhaskar, a police officer. This led to him being popularly known as Mynaa Sethu. In 2014, Sethu acted in a Tamil / Telugu bilingual film called ''Manadhil Maayam Seidhai'' in Tamil and ''Manasunu Maaya Seyake'' in Telugu. The Sethupathis are a Tamils, Tamil clan of the Maravar community native to the Ramanathapuram district, Ramanathapuram and Sivaganga district of Tamil Nadu, India. They were from the 12th century considered independent kings in 16th century who ruled the Ramnad kingdom#Ramnad, Ramnad kingdom, also known as ''Maravar country''. The male rulers of Ramnathapuram also bore the title of "Sethupathi" or "protector of the bridge", the bridge here referring to the legendary sacred Rama's Bridge (Adam's Bridge), while female rulers bore the title "Nachiyar". Setu coins or Setu bull coins are found in large quantities in the northern part of Sri Lanka and in Southern India. Numismatists have clearly pointed out ( Humphry Codrington in his 1924 book ''Ceylon Coins and Currency'', and Michael Mitchiner in his 1978 book ''Oriental Coins and Their Values'') that the traditional design of Sri Lanka standing King Type Copper Massa (coins) of the Jaffna Kingdoms belongs to the Aryacakravarti dynasty from 1284 AD to 1410 AD.
