Sebnitz (; , ) is a town in the Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge district, in Saxony, Germany. Geography The town of Sebnitz lies in the valley of the river Sebnitz (river), Sebnitz and its side valleys between 251 and 460 m above Normalnull, sea level between the mountains of Saxon Switzerland and the Lusatian Highlands. Topographically the town itself lies in the West Lusatian Upland, but lies right on the border with the Upper Lusatian Highlands. Because the natural region of Saxon Switzerland is also very close by, the countryside around the town is very varied. The municipality consists of the town Sebnitz itself, Schönbach, Sebnitz, Schönbach (joined 1935), Hainersdorf (Sebnitz), Hainersdorf (joined 1920), Hertigswalde (joined 1950), Hinterhermsdorf (joined 1998) and the former municipality of Kirnitzschtal (joined 2012), that itself consisted of the villages Altendorf (Sebnitz), Altendorf, Mittelndorf, Lichtenhain (Sebnitz), Lichtenhain, Ottendorf (Sebnitz), Ottendor ...

Sebnitz (river)
The Sebnitz (; ) is the left, larger headstream of the Lachsbach and runs through both the Czech Republic as well as the German state of Saxony. The upper section in the Czech Republic is known as ''Vilémovský potok'' in Czech and ''Wölmsdorfer Bach'' in German. Geography The Sebnitz rises in the Šluknov Hook in a broad valley between the 608-metre-high Hrazený (''Pirsken'') and the 593-metre-high Plešný (''Plissenberg''), 2 kilometres northwest of the village of Brtníky (''Zeidler''). The stream flows in a northwesterly direction to Velký Šenov (''Groß Schönau''), where it swings southwest and follows the valley of Šenov stream (), passing between Vilémov () and Mikulášovice. Sebnitz Railway Station
Sebnitz () is a railway station in the town of Sebnitz, Saxony, Germany. The station lies on the Bautzen–Bad Schandau railway and the Rumburk–Sebnitz railway. The station is served by DB Regio Südost. The line into the Czech Republic, to Dolní Poustevna Dolní Poustevna () in Děčín District in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,700 inhabitants. Administrative division Dolní Poustevna consists of five municipal parts (in brackets population according to the 2021 ... was closed in 1945. In 2012 it was announced that funding had been agreed for the rebuilding and reopening of the line. The new line was opened on 5 July 2014. Bautzen–Bad Schandau Railway
The Bautzen–Bad Schandau railway is a 64-kilometre long railway line in the state of Saxony, Germany, which connects Bautzen to Bad Schandau via Neukirch/Lausitz, Neustadt in Sachsen and Sebnitz. The railway was opened fully in 1898. The part between Neustadt in Sachsen and Bad Schandau is also known as ''Sebnitztalbahn'' (Sebnitz (river), Sebnitz valley railway). Today only the sections of Wilthen–Oberottendorf and Neustadt–Bad Schandau are still in operation. History Construction of the line began in 1874 and by the inauguration in 1877 had cost 9.8 million Reichsmark, 1 million of which going to the construction of the bridge over the Elbe at Bad Schandau. The Neustadt-Bad Schandau section opened on 1 July 1877 and the Bautzen-Neustadt section opened on 1 September 1877. Mittelndorf
Mittelndorf is a village in Saxony, Germany, situated in the district of Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge. It was one of the villages that composed the municipality of Kirnitzschtal. Since 1 October 2012, it is part of the town Sebnitz. History The oldest structure of the village is the mill (''Mittelndorfer Mühle''), built in 1518. Kirnitzschtal is a former municipality in the Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge district, in Saxony, Germany. Since 1 October 2012, it is part of the town Sebnitz. Lichtenhain is a village in Saxony, Germany, situated in the district of Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge. It lies on the S154 road that links Bad Schandau and Sebnitz. The tourist attraction of the Lichtenhain Waterfall lies to the south of the village.
