Pinniped
Pinnipeds (pronounced ), commonly known as seals, are a widely range (biology), distributed and diverse clade of carnivorous, fin-footed, semiaquatic, mostly marine mammals. They comprise the extant taxon, extant families Odobenidae (whose only living member is the walrus), Otariidae (the eared seals: sea lions and fur seals), and Phocidae (the earless seals, or true seals), with 34 extant species and more than 50 extinct species described from fossils. While seals were historically thought to have descended from two ancestral lines, molecular phylogenetics, molecular evidence supports them as a monophyletic group (descended from one ancestor). Pinnipeds belong to the suborder Caniformia of the order Carnivora; their closest living relatives are musteloids (Mustelidae, weasels, Procyonidae, raccoons, skunks and red pandas), having diverged about 50 million years ago. Seals, Georgia
Seals is an unincorporated location in Camden County in the state of Georgia, United States. Its position is at at an elevation of 21 feet. It is located at the point where the Old Jefferson Highway meets the railway line, just east of Floyd Hammock. It is shown on maps of the county between 1895 and 1955 as being about halfway between Woodbine and Kingsland, and can be seen on modern topographic maps. Seals is the present northern terminus of the First Coast Railroad, leased from CSX Transportation in April 2005. Seals Swamp lies to the east of Seals at . Seals And Crofts
Seals and Crofts were an American soft rock duo formed in Los Angeles, California in 1969 by James Eugene Seals (October 17, 1942 – June 6, 2022) and Darrell George "Dash" Crofts (born August 14, 1938). They are best known for their hits " Summer Breeze" (1972), " Diamond Girl" (1973), and " Get Closer" (1976), each of which peaked at No. 6 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart. Both Seals and Crofts were publicly outspoken advocates for the Baháʼí Faith. The Southeast Asian Linguistics Society (SEALS) is a linguistic society dedicated to the study of languages and linguistics in mainland and insular Southeast Asia. Seal's Rock
Lundy is an English island in the Bristol Channel. It forms part of the district of Torridge District, Torridge in the county of Devon. About long and wide, Lundy has had a long and turbulent history, frequently changing hands between the British crown and various usurpers. In the 1920s, the island's owner, Martin Coles Harman, Martin Harman, tried to issue his own coinage and was fined. In 1941, two German Heinkel He 111 bombers crash landed on the island, and their crews were captured. In 1969, Lundy was purchased by British millionaire Jack Hayward, who donated it to the National Trust. It is now managed by the Landmark Trust, a conservation charity that derives its income from day trips and holiday lettings, most visitors arriving by boat from Bideford or Ilfracombe.
