Sanfrecce Hiroshima () is a Japanese professional association football, football club based in Hiroshima. The club competes in the J1 League, top flight of the Japanese football league system. Sanfrecce is one of the most successful clubs in Japan. The club is the joint fourth in most J1 League titles with three, the joint first in most top-flight titles (which includes the defunct Japan Soccer League), with eight, and the club with the most participations in Emperor's Cup finals, with 15. Sanfrecce have won three J1 League, three Emperor's Cup, one J.League Cup and four Japanese Super Cup titles. The , currently known as for sponsorship reasons, is a association football, football stadium in Hiroshima, Japan, which has a seating capacity of 28,520. It has been the home of Sanfrecce Hiroshima and Sanfrecce Hiroshima Regina since 2024. History Sanfrecce Hiroshima had played their home games at the multi-purpose Edion Stadium Hiroshima, Hiroshima Big Arch stadium since 1992, but there had been ideas for a new, football-specific stadium to be built since the early 2000s. In February 2003, Mayor Tadatoshi Akiba promised that a stadium would be built, however nothing initially came to fruition. Following the success of the football team in the early 2010s, winning the 2012 J.League Division 1, 2012, 2013 J.League Division 1, 2013 and 2015 J1 League, 2015 J1 League titles, plans to build a new stadium were once again brought to the fore.
