RFL Women's Challenge Cup
The Women's Challenge Cup is a rugby league Single-elimination tournament, knockout competition organised by the Rugby Football League. The competition started in 2012. History 2012–2016: Foundations The Women's Challenge Cup was set up in 2012 to run alongside the men's competition to give women's rugby teams more competitive games and to give the sport a bigger profile by attaching it to the Challenge Cup. Most teams in the first few years were community clubs and had no links to professional men's clubs. In 2014 the RFL set up RFL Women's Rugby League, an amateur league for the women's game, to help more women's teams get regular game time. 2017–2020: Exposure In 2018 the competition started to receive a much higher profile, with the final being broadcast live on the BBC Sport website. Challenge Cup
The Rugby Football League Challenge Cup, commonly known just as the Challenge Cup is a Single-elimination tournament, knockout rugby league cup competition organised by the Rugby Football League, held annually since 1896, it is the world's oldest cup competition in either rugby union, code of rugby. A concurrent Women's Challenge Cup and Wheelchair Challenge Cup have been held since 2012 and 2015 respectively. The competition is open to all eligible clubs down to British rugby league system, Tier 5. Some amateur clubs have to qualify to enter in Round One while others can apply through the RFL to enter. The final is traditionally played at Wembley Stadium. Despite having been played at other venues, Wembley is generally seen as the home of the competition. "Abide with Me", sung before the game, has become a rugby league anthem. The Toughsheet Community Stadium is a football stadium in Horwich near Bolton, Greater Manchester, England. It is the home ground of Bolton Wanderers Football Club, with an all-seated capacity of 28,723. Opening in 1997, it was originally named the Reebok Stadium, after club sponsors Reebok. Heworth ARLFC
Heworth A.R.L.F.C. is an amateur rugby league football club based in Heworth, York. The first team plays in the NCL Division One. In 1986, the club was one of ten founder members of the BARLA National Amateur League (now known as the National Conference League), and were the winners of the inaugural 1986–87 season. Heworth has produced many players who went on to play the game professionally, most notably former internationals Ray Batten, Kenneth Bowman, Gary Divorty, Bill and Jim Drake, Colin Forsyth, David Watkinson and Geoff Wriglesworth. The club went into decline following their success in the early years of the league, and in 2012 were demoted to NCL Division Three after failing to fulfill one of their fixtures. The 2016 RFL Women's Challenge Cup was an English rugby league knockout tournament competed for by 12 teams during the summer of 2016. The Challenge Cup was won by who beat 6–62 in the final. The Challenge Shield was won by the Thatto Heath Reserves team who beat Whitley Bay Barbarians 0–44 in the final. Both finals took place on 31 July 2016 at the Provident Stadium, Bradford. Odsal Stadium (known as Bartercard Odsal Stadium for sponsorship reasons) is a multi-purpose stadium, multipurpose stadium in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. Mount Pleasant Stadium, officially known for sponsorship purposes as Fox's Biscuits Stadium, is a rugby league stadium in Batley, West Yorkshire, England. It is the home of the Batley Bulldogs and amateur club Batley ARLFC. The Mount Pleasant pitch is sloped and is on a hill overlooking Batley. The end of the ground at the top of the hill has three grandstands. Behind the rugby posts is a terraced stand, which houses the players changing rooms and executive boxes. At the opposite end at the bottom of the hill is an open terraced stand. The bottom corner of the pitch has a pronounced dip. Crown Flatt, currently known as the FLAIR Stadium for sponsorship purposes, is a rugby league stadium in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, England. It is the home of the Dewsbury Rams, who play in the Championship. The ground occupies the site of the former Shaw Cross Colliery, which closed in August 1968. Crown Flatt was also the name of a stadium at a different site in the town which was Dewsbury's home ground from 1876 until 1991.
