Qinhuangdao
Qinhuangdao (; zh, s=秦皇岛, link=no) is a port city on the coast of China in northern Hebei. It is administratively a prefecture-level city, about east of Beijing, on the Bohai Sea, the innermost gulf of the Yellow Sea. Its population during the 2020 national census was 3,136,879, with 1,881,047 people living in the built-up (or 'metro') area made up of four urban districts. History The city's name "''Qinhuangdao''" literally means " Qin Emperor island", and is allegedly originated from the legend that the Jieshishan Scenic Area in Changli County was the site of First Emperor of Qin's famous ritual during his fourth and final survey tour to the east (东巡) in 210 BC. Shanhai Pass
The Shanhai Pass () is a major fortified gateway at the eastern end of the Great Wall of China and one of its most crucial fortifications, as the pass commands the narrowest choke point in the strategic Liaoxi Corridor, an elongated coastal plain at the foothills of the Yan Mountains and the only easily traversable landway between North and Northeast China. Changli County
Changli () is a county of northeastern Hebei province, China, with some Bohai Sea coast. It is under the administration of the Qinhuangdao City, and borders Funing County, Hebei, Funing County and Luan County. Both Beijing–Harbin Railway and China National Highway 205 pass through this county. According to 2020 Chinese census, the 2020 Chinese census, it has a population of 487,989 as of 2020. Changli is one of the largest of China's winemaking districts, with 80 per cent of the county's tillable land used for growing Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Meng Xiangwei (; born June 1966) is the Communist Party Secretary of Qinhuangdao, Hebei, China. Meng was born in Zhao County, Hebei. He earned a degree in journalism from Lanzhou University. Peking–Mukden Railway () was a 19th-century steam powered trunkline connecting Peking (Beijing) and Mukden (former name of Shenyang) through Tianjin, northeastern Hebei, and southwestern Liaoning; it was a crucial railway in North China and Northeast China.
