Pukë
Pukë ( sq-definite, Puka) is a town and municipality in northern Albania. It was formed at the 2015 local government reform by the merger of the former municipalities Gjegjan, Pukë, Qelëz, Qerret and Rrapë, that became municipal units. The seat of the municipality is the town Pukë. The total population is 11,069 (2011 census), in a total area of 505.83 km2. The population of the former municipality at the 2011 census was 3,607. At 838 metres above sea level, the town is one of the highest in elevation in Albania and a well-known ski area. It is 150 km from Albania's capital, Tirana. Etymology The toponym may derive from Latin ''via publica'' ("public road") as it was located on an old trade route. Klubi i Futbollit Tërbuni Pukë, also known as ''Tërbuni'', is an Albanian football club based in the city of Pukë. The club's home ground is the Ismail Xhemali Stadium and they currently compete in the Kategoria e Dytë. History Early years The club was founded in 1936 but were not active until the 1940s. Their first competition in a national championship was in 1949, where they contested under the name Puka in the second tier championship. In their inaugural campaign they competed in group 3 of 13, which featured Kopliku, Lezha and the Shkodër agricultural enterprise. During the 1949 campaign, they were knockedout in the first round as Kopliku and Lezha progressed to the second round, with Lezha finishing as joint champions alongside Spartaku Pogradec. The Kanun (also , other names include ) is a set of Albanian traditional customary laws, which has directed all the aspects of the Albanian tribal society.. Xhovalin Delia (born 29 April 1959) is an Albanian artist, painter, filmmaker and writer from Pukë, Albania who lives in Florence, Italy. Career Xhovalin Delia received his degree in painting at the Fine Arts Academy of Tirana in 1985. After his studies, Delia worked in an animation studio, "AFA Film Animation," as both a director and a painter. From 1994 to 2013, Delia opened painting and visual art exhibitions in Florence, Italy. In 2004, he was part of a group exhibition of Albanian artists who had either fled or migrated from Albania during a previous regime. Delia also stayed linked in the capital of Albania and continued to perform various media there, such as installation and video art, particularly at Pyramid of Tirana or International Center of Culture and Museum in Tirana, Albania. Etilda Gjonaj (born May 6, 1981) is an Albanian politician, lawyer, and professor. She served as Minister of Justice of Albania from September 2017 to September 2021 . Early life and education Etilda Gjonaj was born Etilda Saliu in Pukë, Albania on 6 May 1981. In 2003, Gjonaj graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Tirana. She was admitted as an attorney the next year. In 2011, Gjonaj received a Master's degree in criminal science from the University of Tirana. Millosh Gjergj Nikolla (; 13 October 191126 August 1938), commonly known by the acronym pen name Migjeni, was an Albanian people, Albanian poet and writer, considered one of the most important of the 20th century.
