Public Holidays In Ukraine
The following are 11 public holidays in Ukraine. Holidays established by law During martial law a public holiday is not a non-working day. Before the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church switched to the Revised Julian calendar in September 2023 all Christian holidays were observed according to the Julian calendar, since then Christmas is officially celebrated on 25 December. From 2017 to 2022 Christmas was celebrated in Ukraine on 2 different days, 7 January (the date of the holiday according to the Julian calendar) and 25 December (the date of the holiday according to the Gregorian and Revised Julian calendars). From 2023 Christmas is only officially celebrated in Ukraine on 25 December. When a public holiday falls on a weekend (e.g. Saturday or Sunday), the following working day (e.g. Monday) turns into an official day off too. Cabinet Of Ministers Of Ukraine
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (), commonly referred to as the Government of Ukraine (), is the highest body of state Executive (government), executive power in Ukraine. The Gregorian calendar is the calendar used in most parts of the world. It went into effect in October 1582 following the papal bull issued by Pope Gregory XIII, which introduced it as a modification of, and replacement for, the Julian calendar. Julian Calendar
The Julian calendar is a solar calendar of 365 days in every year with an additional leap day every fourth year (without exception). Jacques Hnizdovsky (1915 – 1985, born Yakiv Yakovych Hnizdovsky) was a Ukrainian-born American painter, printmaker, graphic designer, illustrator and sculptor. Biography Jacques Hnizdovsky was born on January 27, 1915, in Ukraine in what is now Chortkiv Raion of Ternopil Oblast in a priestly family of noble origin bearing the Korab coat of arms.
