Prom
A promenade dance or prom is a formal dance party for graduating high school students at the end of the school year. Students participating in the prom will typically vote for a ''prom king'' and ''prom queen''. Other students may be honored with inclusion in a ''prom court''. The selection method for a prom court is similar to that of homecoming queen/princess, king/prince, and court. Inclusion in a prom court may be a reflection of popularity of those students elected and their level of participation in school activities, such as clubs or sports. The prom queen and prom king may be given crowns to wear. Members of the prom court may be given sashes to wear and photographed together. Similar events, which may be locally inspired by debutante balls, take place in many other parts of the world. In Canada, the terms "formal" and "Grad" are often used, while in Australia and New Zealand, the terms school formal and ball are most commonly used for occasions equivalent to the ...

Prom King (album)
''Prom King'' is the debut album by Skylar Spence, a pseudonym of New York City-based electronic musician Ryan DeRobertis. The album was released on September 18, 2015 via Carpark Records. DeRobertis started using the Skylar Spence name after copyright issues with his previous name, Saint Pepsi. ''Prom King'' was mostly recorded at home and four singles were released preceding the album. ''Prom King'' is a pop and dance album, marking a sonic departure for DeRobertis. In the album, DeRobertis sings and strays from the sampled vaporwave-like music he had created previously. The album received generally positive reviews from music critics, and placed on ''PopMatters''' year-end best list for 2015. Common comments from critics were about the album's effervescence, its nostalgia, and its cohesiveness. Background and recording Ryan DeRobertis previously created music as Saint Pepsi, but as he gained popularity, the name created legal trouble with PepsiCo. DeRobertis adopted the ps ...

Senior Prom
The Lockheed Senior Prom was a classified black project conducted by the United States Air Force in conjunction with the Lockheed Corporation's Skunk Works for the development and testing of a cruise missile using stealth technology. Based on the company's Have Blue demonstrator, the six Senior Prom vehicles proved successful in testing conducted at Area 51 in the late 1970s; despite this, the aircraft was not selected to enter production, and the program was terminated in the early 1980s. Design and development Following the success of the test program for the Lockheed Have Blue stealth technology demonstrator aircraft, the United States Air Force awarded a contract to the Lockheed Advanced Development Projects division—the "Skunk Works"—for the development of an unmanned aerial vehicle, intended to act as the prototype of a cruise missile, that would apply the Have Blue's faceted design in order to reduce the radar cross section of the missile by deflecting electromagnet ...

Debs And Grads
A school's Debs, also called Grad or Grads, is the formal ball for students in their final year of secondary school in the Republic of Ireland, analogous to the prom in North American schools or the school formal in Australia. It is most commonly referred to as "the Debs" (from "debutante"), but some schools (mainly boys' or coeducational) call it "the Grad" or "Grads" (from graduation), while in County Donegal, and other parts of Ulster, it is known as "the Prom" or "the Formal". Each ball is associated with a specific school, which may take place during the school year, immediately after the Leaving Certificate examinations in June, or after the results are announced in August. Some schools have a smaller "pre-Debs" some months before the Debs. Other schools, including in Tralee, hold their Debs in January. Organisation A Debs or Grads (known in County Donegal and other parts of Ulster as "the Prom" or "the Formal") is often organised by someone other than the school itself. ...
