''Project Runway Canada'' is a Gemini Award-winning Canadian television adaptation of the American reality television series ''Project Runway'', which debuted on the Slice network on October 8, 2007. The second season aired on Global. The series' host is fashion model Iman, while Canadian designer Brian Bailey acts as the contestants' mentor. The series was canceled after the second-season finale. Slice is a Television in Canada, Canadian English language specialty channel owned by Corus Entertainment. The channel primarily broadcasts programming targeting young adult women, including Television comedy, comedy, Reality television, reality, lifestyle, and true crime programming. It was launched on January 1, 1995, as Life Network under the ownership of Alliance Atlantis, Atlantis Communications. Atlantis was acquired by Alliance Communications in 1998 and Life Network was relaunched as Slice on March 5, 2007. In 2008, Canwest and Goldman Sachs acquired Alliance Atlantis, and the channel's ownership was later sold to Shaw Media in 2010, and ultimately, Corus in April 2016.
