Place (United States Census Bureau)
The United States Census Bureau defines a place as a concentration of population which has a name, is locally recognized, and is not part of any other place. A place typically has a residential nucleus and a closely spaced street pattern, and it frequently includes commercial property and other urban land uses. A place may be an incorporated place (a self-governing city, Town (United States), town, or Village (United States), village) or it may be a census-designated place (CDP). Prideaux Place
Prideaux Place is a Listed building, grade I listed Elizabethan architecture, Elizabethan country house in the parish of Padstow, Cornwall, England. It has been the home of the Prideaux family for over 400 years. The house was built in 1592 by Sir Nicholas Prideaux (1550–1627), a distinguished lawyer, and was enlarged and modified by successive generations, most notably by his great-great-grandson Edmund Prideaux (1693–1745), Edmund Prideaux (1693–1745) and by the latter's grandson Rev. Charles Prideaux-Brune (1760–1833). The present building, containing 81 rooms, combines the traditional E-shape of Elizabethan architecture with the 18th-century exuberance of Horace Walpole’s Strawberry Hill Gothic. The house contains a fine collection of works of art, including royal and family portraits, fine furniture and the Prideaux Porcelain Collection. The recently uncovered ceiling in the Great chamber, Great Chamber is a masterpiece of the art of the Elizabethan plasterer. In ...

R/place
r/place was a recurring collaborative project and social experiment hosted on the content aggregator site Reddit. Originally launched on April Fools' Day 2017, it has since been repeated again on April Fools' Day 2022 and on July 20, 2023. The 2017 experiment involved an online canvas located at a subreddit called ''r/place''. Registered users could edit the canvas by changing the color of a single pixel with a replacement from a 16-color palette. After each pixel was placed, a timer prevented the user from placing any more pixels for a period of time varying from 5 to 20 minutes (depending on whether the user had verified their email address). The idea of the experiment was conceived by Josh Wardle. Over a million users edited the canvas, placing a total of approximately 16 million pixels, and, at the time the experiment was ended, over 90,000 users were actively viewing or editing the canvas. The experiment was commended for its representation of the culture of Reddit's ...

Everything I Didn't Say
''Everything I Didn't Say'' is the second studio album by English singer and songwriter Ella Henderson. It was released on 11 March 2022 by Major Tom's and Asylum Records, marking Henderson's first full-length album since her 2014 debut '' Chapter One''. Originally scheduled for release in 2016, Henderson would leave her then record label Syco Records, citing creative differences. After a period of ill health, and signing a new deal with Major Tom's, Henderson would release several standalone songs as well as collaborations with other artists. Recording for ''Everything I Didn't Say'' took place from 2016 through 2021 mostly in London and the UK, but also in Stockholm and Los Angeles, with around 400 songs recorded for consideration. Taking a diary-like approach to the track listing, each song tells an individual story in Henderson's life. Lyrics cover a range of themes including themes of love, heartbreak, mental health and self-discovery, against a musical backdrop of both ...

Places (Brad Mehldau Album)
''Places'' is an album by Brad Mehldau, released on the Warner Bros. label in 2000. Background Mehldau described the influence of James Joyce's '' Ulysses'' on the album being "cyclical in design, with a theme that began the record and returned at the ending, just as Odysseus's journey was a circular one in which he eventually arrived home". Reception AllMusic awarded the album 4½ stars and in its review by Richard S. Ginell, stated "the album is about the constancy of his personality and musical language, taking all of your personal mental baggage with you wherever you travel. This is an important album, one that anyone interested in piano jazz ought to check out". On All About Jazz, David Adler noted "Each piece is named for a particular place (hence the title), which Mehldau attempts to represent in musical terms. In short, Places is a concept album, and a particularly effective one. For the most part, Mehldau holds his prodigious chops in check, preferring instead to conj ...
