Perth Glory Football Club is an Australian professional Association football, soccer club based in Perth, Perth, Western Australia. It competes in the country's premier men's competition, A-League Men, under Professional sports league organization#Systems around the world, licence from Australian Professional Leagues. Founded in 1995, Perth Glory is one of three A-League clubs to survive from the now-defunct National Soccer League (Australia), National Soccer League (NSL), playing its debut match in this competition in October 1996 for the 1996–97 National Soccer League, 1996–97 season. Perth Rectangular Stadium
Perth Rectangular Stadium (also known as HBF (insurer), HBF Park under naming rights) is a sports stadium in Perth, the capital of the Australian states and territories, Australian state of Western Australia. Located close to Perth (suburb), Perth's central business district, the stadium currently has a maximum capacity of 20,500 people for sporting events and 25,000 people for concerts, with the ground's record attendance of 32,000 people set during an Ed Sheeran concert in 2015. The land on which the stadium was built, known as Loton Park, was made a public reserve in 1904, with the main ground developed several years later. Tony Popovic
Tony Popovic (born 4 July 1973) is an Australian association football manager and former player. He is currently head coach of the Australia men's national soccer team, Australia national football team. He guided the team to qualify for the 2026 World Cup becoming the first Australian to play for and manage the team at a World Cup. As a player Popovic's usual position was centre-back. Jamie Harnwell
Jamie Richard Harnwell (born 21 July 1977 in Perth, Western Australia) is a retired Australian football (soccer) player and current CEO of Football West. He holds the record for most appearances for Perth Glory, with 256 league appearances to his name. Club career Perth Glory Jaime Harnwell joined Perth Glory in 1998 from Western Australia State League side Sorrento FC and quickly joined the starting eighteen. In 2003 Harnwell had a one-month contract with Leyton Orient in Football League Two, which was not extended. He then played a game for Welling United at Southern Football League Premier Division. At the end of the 2003 English football season, Harnwell returned to Perth and rejoined the Perth Glory. Slobodan "Bobby" Despotovski (born 14 July 1971) is an Australian soccer player who played 12 seasons in the top tier of Australian soccer. He played in National Soccer League (NSL) for Heidelberg United and Morwell Falcons before moving to Perth Glory where he played eight seasons in the NSL and two in the A-League. Early life Despotovski was born in Perth, Western Australia, to a Macedonian father, Cvetko, and mother, Valentina (Saharov). Her maternal parents, Martin and Margareta Saharov were from Sevastopol, Crimea, USSR. Valentina was born in Kačarevo, Pančevo and married Cvetko in Vojvodina. Gold Coast United Football Club is an Australian Association football, soccer club based in Gold Coast, Queensland. The earliest incarnation of the club formed in 1966 and its home ground was at Nikiforides Family Park in Broadbeach. A terrace or terracing in sporting terms refers to the standing area of a sports stadium, particularly in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. It is a series of concrete steps, with intermittent safety barriers installed at specific locations to prevent an excessive movement of people down its slope. Terraces carry particular importance in association football, football stadiums, where they have tended to be located in the areas behind the two goals as a cheaper alternative to sitting in the stands which were traditionally located at the sides of the football pitch, field. Lord Street, Perth
Lord Street is a road in East Perth, Western Australia. It starts from Victoria Square near Royal Perth Hospital and runs north-east for to end at Walcott Street, Mount Lawley. The street formerly extended south to the Swan River, with Victoria Avenue being the new name as of 1903 for the section south of Victoria Square. Lord Street crosses Moore, Wellington and Wittenoom Streets. Lord Street used to cross the Armadale and Midland railway lines east of Perth station, at the Lord Street level crossing.
