Perm, Russia
Perm (, ; ; ), previously known as Yegoshikha, Yagoshikha (; 1723–1781) and Molotov (; 1940–1957), is the administrative centre of Perm Krai in the European part of Russia. It sits on the banks of the Kama River near the Ural Mountains, covering an area of . With over one million residents Perm is the List of cities and towns in Russia by population, 15th-largest city in Russia and the 5th-largest in the Volga Federal District. Economy In 1723, a copper-smelting works was founded at the village of ''Yagoshikha''. In 1781 the settlement of Yagoshikha became the town of ''Perm''. Perm's position on the navigable Kama River, leading to the Volga, and on the Siberian Route across the Ural Mountains, helped it become an important trade and manufacturing centre. It also lay along the Trans-Siberian Railway. Perm District (, ) is an administrative district (raion), one of the thirty-three in Perm Krai, Russia.Law #416-67 Population - 116,353 (2021) Geography The Perm district is located in the suburban area of Perm. It borders on Krasnokamsk municipality, Dobryansk municipality, Chusovskoy municipality, Kungur municipal district, Okhansk municipality as well as Nytvensk municipality along the river Kama. The district has 17 rural settlements comprising 223 communities. The area of the district is 3753.05 km2. History Perm uyezd was one of the 16 constituent districts of Perm province, formed by the manifesto of Catherine the Great in 1775. Perm Krai
Perm Krai (, ; ) is a federal subjects of Russia, federal subject of Russia (a Krais of Russia, krai), located in Eastern Europe. Its administrative center is Perm, Russia, Perm. The population of the krai was 2,532,405 (2021 Russian census, 2021 Census). The krai was formed on 1 December 2005 as a result of the 2004 referendum on the merger of Perm Oblast and Komi-Permyak Autonomous Okrug. Komi-Permyak Okrug retained its autonomous status within Perm Krai during the transitional period of 2006–2008. It also retained a budget separate from that of the krai, keeping all federal transfers. Starting in 2009, Komi-Permyak Okrug's budget became subject to the budgeting law of Perm Krai. The transitional period was implemented in part because Komi-Permyak Okrug relied heavily on federal subsidies, and an abrupt cut would have been detrimental to its economy. Perm Oblast
Until 1 December 2005, Perm Oblast () was a federal subject of Russia (an oblast) in Privolzhsky (Volga) Federal District. According to the results of the referendum held in October 2004, Perm Oblast was merged with Komi-Permyak Autonomous Okrug to form Perm Krai. It was established in 1938 as part of the RSFSR The Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (Russian SFSR or RSFSR), previously known as the Russian Socialist Federative Soviet Republic and the Russian Soviet Republic, and unofficially as Soviet Russia,Declaration of Rights of the labo .... Perm Governorate
Perm Governorate (), also known as the Governorate of Perm, was an administrative-territorial unit ('' guberniya'') of the Russian Empire and the Russian SFSR from 1781 to 1923. It was located on both slopes of the Ural Mountains, and its administrative center was the city of Perm. The region gave its name to the Permian period, the last period of the Paleozoic era. Great Perm
Great Perm, or Perm Land, also known as the Principality of Perm (1451–1505), is a historical region and former principality along the Kama River in Russia. The city of Cherdyn was the center of the region. The region is first mentioned in 1324. Vasily II of Moscow appointed a prince in 1451 to govern the region. Great Perm was formally dependent on Novgorod until 1471, after which it was dependent on Moscow until it was finally incorporated into the Russian state in 1505. The use of the official name ''Great Perm'' ceased in 1708 when the Siberia Governorate was established as part of administrative reforms by Peter the Great. Perm Governorate was later established in 1796, which in turn was succeeded by Perm Krai, now a federal subject of Russia. Etymology The origin of the name ''Perm'' is uncertain. Perm (hairstyle)
A permanent wave, commonly called a perm or permanent (sometimes called a "curly perm" to distinguish it from a "Hair straightening, straight perm"), is a hairstyle consisting of waves or curls set into the hair. The curls may last a number of months, hence the name. Perms may be applied using thermal or chemical means. In the latter method, chemicals are applied to the hair, which is then wrapped around forms to produce waves and curls. The same process is used for chemical straightening or relaxing, with the hair being flattened instead of curled during the chemical reaction. Permanent Labor Certification (not to be confused with the Labor Condition Application, LCA) is a process step required by some categories of employment-based immigration to the United States of America. Its stated goal is to " protect U.S. workers and the U.S. labor market by ensuring that foreign workers seeking immigrant visa classifications are not displacing equally qualified U.S. workers". U.S. workers are U.S. citizens, nationals or U.S. lawful permanent residents. In 2005, an electronic filing system for Permanent Labor Certification was introduced called Program Electronic Review Management or PERM, a widely used term by which the process as a whole is now known. There are several options available to U.S. employers who wish to hire foreign, non-immigrant workers on a temporary but long-term basis: H-1B visas, L-1 visas, TN status and other options.
