Pathum Wan District
Pathum Wan (, ) is one of the Districts of Bangkok, fifty districts (''khet'') of Bangkok, Thailand. It lies just beyond the old city boundary of Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem and was a rural area on the eastern outskirts of the city when royal villas were built there in the late nineteenth century. The district was officially established in 1915, and covers an area of . A large part of the district area is taken up by the campus of Chulalongkorn University and the green expanses of Lumphini Park and the Royal Bangkok Sports Club. By the turn of the 20th–21st centuries, the district had become known as the modern-day city centre, home to the prominent shopping areas of Siam area, Siam and Ratchaprasong. Ban Khrua
Ban Khrua (, ; other spellings include ''Ban Krua'' and ''Baan Krua'') is a historic community neighborhood along Bangkok's Khlong Saen Saep from Saphan Hua Chang to Wat Phrayayang. It includes an area of about 14 rai (about 5.5 acres) on both banks of the canal. It's divided into three parts: ''Ban Khrua Nuea'' (บ้านครัวเหนือ; 'North Ban Khrua'); ''Ban Khrua Tai'' (บ้านครัวใต้; 'South Ban Khrua') in Ratchathewi District; and ''Ban Khrua Tawan Tok'' (บ้านครัวตะวันตก; 'West Ban Khrua') in Pathum Wan District. Rama I Road (, ; usually shortened to , ) is a road in Bangkok. It starts from the end of Bamrung Mueang Road where it intersects Krung Kasem Road at the border between the districts of Pom Prap Sattru Phai and Pathum Wan. From this point, it crosses Kasat Suek Bridge, also known as Yotse Bridge, which runs above Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem and the railway running from nearby Hua Lamphong railway station. Bamrung Mueang Road
Bamrung Mueang Road (, ) is the second paved road in Bangkok. It was built in 1863 after Charoen Krung Road, in the reign of King Mongkut (Rama IV). It cut through the old fortified city of Rattanakosin Island from west to east, beginning near the Grand Palace, passing the Giant Swing and running eastward to Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem. It continues on as Rama I Road after crossing Kasat Suek Bridge. It was the main thoroughfare as the city expanded eastward and away from the Chao Phraya river in the early 20th century. Originally, it was called unofficially ''"Thanon Ree"'' (ถนนรี, "diagonal road") or ''"Thanon Sao Chingcha"'' (ถนนเสาชิงช้า, "giant swing road"). Wat Pathumwanaram
Wat Pathum Wanaram () or Wat Pathum for short is a Buddhist temple in Bangkok, Thailand. It is located in the Pathum Wan District, between the two shopping malls Siam Paragon and CentralWorld, and across the street of Siam Square. History The temple was founded in 1857 by King Mongkut (Rama IV) as a place of worship near his Sa Pathum Palace. At the time of its founding the area was still only rice fields, only accessible via the Khlong Saen Saeb. The temple is a third class royal temple of the Thammayut Nikaya order. The full name of the temple is Wat Pathum Wanaram Ratcha Wora Viharn (วัดปทุมวนารามราชวรวิหาร). Among the various buildings of the temple is a ''Sala (Thai architecture), sala'' partially reconstructed from the crematorium of the late Srinagarindra, Princess Mother of Thailand.
