Osen is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is part of the Fosen region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Osen. The other main village is Seter. Most residents live in the coastal areas or in the Steinsdalen valley. The municipality is the 239th largest by area out of the 357 municipalities in Norway. Osen is the 340th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 898. The municipality's population density is and its population has decreased by 9.9% over the previous 10-year period. General information The municipality of Osen was established on 1 June 1892 when the old Bjørnør Municipality was divided into three: Osen Municipality (population: 1,575), Roan Municipality (population: 2,069), and Stoksund Municipality (population: 1,122). Osen Church
Osen Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Osen Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the village of Osen. It is the church for the Osen parish which is part of the Fosen prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1877 using plans drawn up by the architect Haakon Thorsen. The church seats about 300 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the year 1589, but the church may not have been new that year. The first church in Osen was built in the Middle Ages. Records show that the original church was likely located about east of the present church building. In 1645, the old church underwent significant repairs. The historical records of the church are not clear, but there is evidence that a new church was built on the site in 1655 or in 1716, but those are not confirmed. Erwin Dom Osen
Dominik Osen (1891–1970), also known as Erwin Dom Osen and Mime Van Osen, was an Austrian Expressionist painter, cabaret performer, and mime. Osen was born to a Japanese father and Austrian mother, but orphaned at an early age. At six, he entered the ballet school of the Vienna Court Opera, where its director, the composer/conductor Gustav Mahler, recognized his exceptional gift for design and fostered his education. In 1907, he studied painting privately with Gustav Klimt. He then enrolled at the Vienna Academy, where he met and befriended Egon Schiele, with whom he and others co-founded the ''Neukunstgruppe'' ("New Art Group"). Osen modeled for his friend Schiele, the Austrian Expressionist painter, in a series of portraits during the early 1900s. Schiele's portrayals of Osen (and of fellow model Max Oppenheimer) are noteworthy as not simply anatomical studies, but "explorations of human sexuality" for which the two served as muses. Osen (river)
The Osen () is a river in Bezhetsky District of Tver Oblast in Russia. It is a major right tributary of the Mologa. It is long, and the area of its basin is . The source of the Osen is located in Tver Oblast, close to the village of Pereuz. The Osen is formed by the confluence of two rivers, the Mogocha and the Melecha, both of which are about long. The Osen flows southwest and joins the Mologa at the village of Yeski. Despite the short length, the Osen has a rather big drainage area. It includes almost all of Molokovsky District, the southern half of Sandovsky District, the northern and the western parts of Bezhetsky District, and the southern half of Krasnokholmsky District, as well as minor areas in Vesyegonsky and Sonkovsky districts. Krivodol (, ; "crooked ravine") is a town in northwestern Bulgaria, part of Vratsa Province. It is the administrative centre of Krivodol municipality, which lies in the western part of Vratsa Province, halfway between Vratsa and Montana and 130 kilometres north of Sofia.
