Olympiacos F.C., Olympiacos Football Club are a Greek professional association football club based in Piraeus, Attica, who currently play in the Super League Greece. They have played at their current home ground, Karaiskaki, since their foundation in 1925. Olympiacos entered the Piraeus Football Clubs Association, E.P.S. Piraeus in their first season, winning the league 3 times in a row 1925–1928. Olympiacos was founded on March 10, 1925, in the port of Piraeus, when the members of Peiraikos Podosfairikos Omilos (Sport and Football Club of Piraeus) decided, during a historical assembly, to dissolve the two clubs in order to establish a unified new one, with an emblem depicting the profile of an Ancient Olympic Games winner. Olympiacós Sýndesmos Filáthlon Peiraiós (, Olympic Association of Fans of Piraeus) is a major multi-sport club based in Piraeus, Greece. Kyriakos Karataidis
Kyriakos Karataidis (; born 4 July 1965) is a former Greek football player. He played for Olympiacos, as well as for the national side. Career Born in Oinoi, Kastoria, Karataidis began playing senior club football with Flatsata Oinois in 1981, and joined Kastoria F.C. one year later in 1982. In 1988, Karataidis would join Olympiacos F.C., the club he would play for until he retired in 2001. He won five consecutive Alpha Ethniki and three Greek Football Cup titles with Olympiacos. Karataidis made 34 appearances for the Greece national football team from 1990 to 1998. He competed at the 1994 FIFA World Cup finals. Kostas Mitroglou
Konstantinos "Kostas" Mitroglou (, ; born 12 March 1988) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a striker. He is nicknamed "Mitrogoal" and "Pistolero" by fans due to his goalscoring abilities. Raised in Germany, Mitroglou started his career at Borussia Mönchengladbach, where he established himself as an excellent prospect. He was signed by Olympiacos in the summer of 2007 and had two loan spells at Panionios and Atromitos before establishing himself in the team. He transferred to Premier League club Fulham in 2013 for a club record £12 million, and they were relegated in his only season, in which he was troubled by injury. Stylianos (or Stelios) Giannakopoulos (; born 12 July 1974), known mononymously as Stelios due to his long surname, is a Greek football manager and former player. During his playing career, Stelios was a winger or attacking midfielder and a well-known figure in Greek football, especially during his tenure at Bolton Wanderers and at UEFA Euro 2004, where Greece won. Youssef El-Arabi
Youssef El-Arabi (; born 3 February 1987) is a Moroccan professional footballer who plays as a striker for Cypriot First Division club APOEL. He began his career with hometown club Caen in Ligue 1, making his debut in 2008. After a season in Saudi Arabia with Al Hilal he signed for La Liga club Granada for a club record €5 million in 2012. He scored 45 goals in 134 official games before leaving for Al-Duhail in 2016. In three years in the Qatar Stars League, he was top scorer twice, and totalled 107 goals in 95 games across all competitions before returning to Europe with Olympiacos. Giovanni Silva De Oliveira
Giovanni Silva de Oliveira (born 4 February 1972), better known as Giovanni, is a Brazilian football manager and former player. He played as either an attacking midfielder or a forward. At club level, Giovanni most notably played for Spanish side Barcelona, Greek side Olympiacos, and Brazilian club Santos. Internationally, he played for the Brazil national team, gaining 18 caps and scoring 6 goals; he was part of the Brazilian team that reached the 1998 FIFA World Cup Final. In his prime, Giovanni was one of Barcelona's most valuable players, but after the arrival of Louis van Gaal at the club, he got into conflict with the Dutch manager, along with fellow Brazilians Rivaldo (whom van Gaal wanted to use as a left winger, despite his protests) and Sonny Anderson. Nikos Anastopoulos
Nikos Anastopoulos (; born 22 January 1958) is a Greek former footballer and manager. He was one the most prolific strikers in the Greek league during the 1980s and is widely regarded as one of the best players in the history of Greek football. Anastopoulos began his career at Panionios in 1976, where he quickly became a high-profile player, winning the cup in 1979. After impressive performances in the following season's Cup Winners' Cup campaign, he was reached out by a number of European clubs, eventually signing with Olympiacos. Vassilis Karapialis (; born 13 June 1965) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. Club career Early years Born in Ambelokipoi, Larissa Karapialis started with street football, and in 1979, aged 14, he joined the Toxotis Larissa youth team. In 1980, he moved to Toxotis' first team and got many top-flight clubs interested in him. In 1984, OFI attempted to sign Karapialis for 2.1 million drachmas, but he turned it down. He had an outstanding 1984–85 season with Toxotis, scoring 30 goals while playing as a midfielder. Georgios Amanatidis (; born 4 April 1970) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a defender. Club career Amanatidis was captain of the Greek side Olympiacos, and a member of the team which reached 7 Greek Championships successively (1997–2003). Giorgos Sideris
Giorgos Sideris (; born 5 April 1938) is a Greek former footballer, who played as striker. Club career Sideris began his youth career at Atromitos Piraeus playing in the centre of midfield but his coaches soon became aware of his goalscoring capabilities. When he was promoted to the senior team in 1958 he produced an outstanding debut season in which Sideris became the fulcrum of Atromitos’ attack. The youngsters direct, no-holding-back attacking style plundered 28 goals in 30 league appearances Sideris transferred to Olympiacos in the summer of 1959. Dimitrios Mavrogenidis (; born 23 December 1976) is a retired Greek football right-back. Mavrogenidis is best known as Olympiacos' first-choice right-back for a long stretch of the club's dominance of Greek football in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Konstantinos Polychroniou (; 12 November 1936 – 1 June 2018), better known as Kostas Polychroniou, was a Greek professional association football, football player and manager.
