Ogden Tables
The Ogden tables are a set of statistical tables and other information for use in court cases in the UK. Their purpose is to make it easier to calculate future losses in personal injury and fatal accident cases. The tables take into account life expectancy and provide a range of discount rates from -2.0% to 3.0% in steps of 0.5%. The discount rate is fixed by the Lord Chancellor under section 1 of the Damages Act 1996. Effective 11 January 2025, this rate increased from -0.25% to 0.5% in England and Wales. The discount rate in both Scotland and Northern Ireland had already been set at 0.5% following reviews by the Government Actuary's Department, effective 26 September 2024. The full and official name of the tables is ''Actuarial Tables with explanatory notes for use in Personal Injury and Fatal Accident Cases'', but the unofficial name became common parlance following the Civil Evidence Act 1995, where this shorthand name was used as a subheading – Sir Michael Ogden QC havi ...

Ogden (hyperelastic Model)
The Ogden material model is a hyperelastic material model used to describe the non-linear stress– strain behaviour of complex materials such as rubbers, polymers, and biological tissue. The model was developed by Raymond Ogden in 1972.Ogden, R. W., (1972). ''Large Deformation Isotropic Elasticity – On the Correlation of Theory and Experiment for Incompressible Rubberlike Solids'', Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series A, Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Vol. 326, No. 1567 (1 February 1972), pp. 565–584. The Ogden model, like other hyperelastic material models, assumes that the material behaviour can be described by means of a strain energy density function A strain energy density function or stored energy density function is a scalar (mathematics), scalar-valued function (mathematics), function that relates the strain energy density of a material to the deformation gradient. : W = \hat(\boldsy ..., from which the stress–strain relationships can b ...

Ogden River
The Ogden River is a long river in Weber County. Utah, United States. Description The Ogden River's three forks (North, Central, and South) begin in the Wasatch Range in Weber County and converge at Pineview Reservoir, near Huntsville. The river then flows southwest through Ogden Canyon, the city of Ogden, and the border of West Haven and Marriott-Slaterville where it joins the Weber River. The Ogden River is older than the Wasatch Mountains. As the mountains slowly rose over the last 15 million years by periodic faulting on the Wasatch fault, the river was able to cut through the landscape to create the remarkable Ogden Canyon, which is a roughly long canyon with a series of smaller side canyons. The city of Ogden is at the western end of Ogden Canyon, with the eastern end at Pineview Dam. Originally named after 19th-century fur trader Peter Skene Ogden, the Ogden River has been a source of irrigation since the early 20th century. Pineview Dam was completed in 19 ...

Ogden Avenue
Ogden Avenue is a street extending from the Near West Side of Chicago to Montgomery, Illinois. It was named for William B. Ogden, the first mayor of Chicago. The street follows the route of the Southwestern Plank Road, a plank road opened in 1848 across swampy terrain between Chicago and Riverside, Illinois, and, by 1851, extended to Naperville. The 1909 Plan of Chicago recommended an entire network of new diagonal streets, but the only one ever built was the extension in the 1920s of Ogden from Union Park through the Old Town neighborhood to end at Clark Street opposite Lincoln Park. This extension, largely built in the 1920s, was completed in 1934 with bridges and a connecting viaduct across Goose Island and the North Branch of the Chicago River. In the late 1960s, as part of an urban renewal project for Old Town, the street was vacated in this area and sold off for development. In recent decades, additional portions of Ogden have been abandoned and vacated. The aven ...
