Second Treaty Of Versailles
The Treaty of Versailles was a diplomatic agreement signed between Habsburg monarchy, Austria and Early Modern France, France at the Palace of Versailles on 1 May 1757 during the Seven Years' War. It expanded on the Treaty of Versailles (1756), 1756 Treaty of Versailles, which had established the Franco-Austrian Alliance. It is thus commonly known as the Second Treaty of Versailles. Belfries Of Belgium And France
The Belfries of Belgium and France are a group of 56 historical buildings designated by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites, in recognition of the civic (rather than church) Belfry (architecture), belfries serving as an architectural manifestation of emerging civic independence from feudal and religious influences in the former County of Flanders (present-day French Flanders area of France and Flanders region of Belgium) and neighbouring areas which once were possessions of the House of Burgundy (in present-day Wallonia of Belgium). The World Heritage Site was originally called the Belfries of Flanders and Wallonia, a 1999 UNESCO list of 32 towers in those two regions of Belgium. In 2005, the list was expanded and given its current name, recognizing the addition of 23 belfries from the Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy regions in the north-eastern tip of France, plus the belfry of Gembloux in Wallonia. Despite the list being concerned with civic tower structures, it includes six Belgia ...

Polders
A polder () is a low-lying tract of land that forms an artificial hydrological entity, enclosed by embankments known as dikes. The three types of polder are: # Land reclaimed from a body of water, such as a lake or the seabed # Flood plains separated from the sea or river by a dike # Marshes separated from the surrounding water by a dike and subsequently drained; these are also known as '' koogs'', especially in Germany The ground level in drained marshes subsides over time. All polders will eventually be below the surrounding water level some or all of the time. Water enters the low-lying polder through infiltration and water pressure of groundwater, or rainfall, or transport of water by rivers and canals. This usually means that the polder has an excess of water, which is pumped out or drained by opening sluices at low tide. Care must be taken not to set the internal water level too low. Polder land made up of peat (former marshland) will sink in relation to its previo ...

Ganzepoot
The Ganzepoot (Dutch for ''goose foot'') is a series of lock (water navigation), locks and spillways in the inner port of Nieuwpoort, Belgium which connect one river, three water channels and two canals with the mouth of the Yser River and the maritime port. The spillways control the level of the two channels and the drainage of the polders. The Ganzepoot was built in the second half of 19th century but was almost completely destroyed in World War I. The name comes from the fact that infrastructure collectively resembles a six-toed goose foot. From left to right (north to south) are: * The ''Nieuwbedelf spillway'' (also known as the ''Grote Westwatering spillway'') - a polder overflow drainage ditch between the and the coast * The ''Gravensas'' lock that connects the ''Nieuwpoort-Plassendale Canal'', the Yser and the Canal de Furnes. * The ''Springsas:'' - Originally this was the of the old Nieuwdamme Creek, the former bed of the Yser before its recanalization.
