Ngmoco, LLC (stylized as ngmoco) was an American-based publisher of video games for the iOS and Android platforms, and a subsidiary of DeNA Co., Ltd. The company was founded by former Electronic Arts executive Neil Young in July 2008. Since its founding, ngmoco has had more than seven million combined game installs. Venture capital firms Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Norwest Venture Partners, among others, have financed the company with a combined total of US$40.6 million. The company is most well known for their publishing of the ''Rolando'' game series and '' Eliminate Pro''. Plus+
Plus+ was a social networking, game discovery and multiplayer platform launched by Ngmoco in June 2009. It was similar to Xbox Network, allowing users to interact with other players while playing. The Plus+ Network had approximately 14 million registered users in October 2010. On March 31, 2013, Plus+ servers were shut down along with the games that were supported. Eliminate Pro
''Eliminate Pro'' was a first-person shooter developed for iOS by Ngmoco. Ngmoco has stopped development on it, and in May 2012 shut off the login/game servers and removed it from the Apple App Store. ''Eliminate'' was based on the open-source Quake 3 engine. Gameplay The player moves their character by moving the virtual joystick at the bottom left of the screen, while double-tapping and holding this button down will activate rapid fire. They shoot by pressing the bottom right of the screen. Zooming can be achieved by hitting the center cross hairs (this can be disabled in Options). The character jumps when the player presses the bottom of the screen. The player can switch weapons by hitting the top right of the screen. Only two weapons at maximum can be used in one match. ''Rolando'' is a Puzzle video game, puzzle-Adventure game, adventure video game developed by studio HandCircus and published by Ngmoco. It was released for iOS on December 18, 2008, and uses the Box2D game engine. ''Rolando''s gameplay revolves around navigation of "Rolandos", small ball-like creatures, throughout a fictional world known as "Rolandoland". ''Rolando'' has received generally positive reviews. A sequel, ''Rolando 2: Quest for the Golden Orchid'', was released in 2009. A third game was announced and later cancelled. William "Bing" Gordon is a video game executive and technology venture capitalist. He served ten years as Chief Creative Officer of video game publisher and developer Electronic Arts (EA) prior to his current partnership with Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB). Simon Jeffery is the chief publishing officer of ngmoco's Plus+ Publishing group. Similar to EA Publishing Partners group, Plus+ Publishing is a combined technology, App Store publishing and custom support play for iPhone and iPod touch developers. It will launch its first products with the rollout of the 3.0 operating system for those devices. Prior to this, Jeffery was the president of Sega of America from 2004 to 2009. He was president of LucasArts between 2000 and 2003, and a director at the company for three years beforehand. Prior to joining LucasArts, Jeffery worked in a number of marketing, business and development roles for Virgin Interactive and Electronic Arts. ''MazeFinger'' is a game developed and published by ngmoco for the iOS platform. It is available for download on the iPhone and iPod Touch on the App Store or iTunes. Gameplay In ''MazeFinger'', players have to complete mazes by dragging their finger along the path of the maze without touching the sides, slowing the player down. Each level is composed of 5 different mazes and these 5 mazes have to be completed before the energy bar runs out and the game is over. There are 200 levels with over 1000 unique mazes. The iFund is a US$200 million capital fund. Developers may enter into equity deals for the creation of applications, services, and components for Apple Inc.'s iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad platform. It is being offered and managed by venture capital company Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & Byers (KPCB). The iFund was announced by KPCB partner John Doerr at the same time as the iPhone OS SDK, at Apple's iPhone Roadmap event on March 6, 2008 in Cupertino, California.
