Netball Quad Series
The Netball Quad Series, also referred to as the SANZEA Netball Quad Series, is an international netball series. The series traditionally features Australia national netball team, Australia, England national netball team, England, New Zealand national netball team, New Zealand and South Africa national netball team, South Africa playing a series of Test match (netball), test matches against each other. The inaugural series was played in 2012 Netball Quad Series, 2012. However, it was not until 2016 Netball Quad Series, 2016 that the series became a regular event. Australia won the inaugural series and have gone on to become the competition's dominant team. On occasions when one of the traditional four has not entered, the series has been replaced by the Netball Nations Cup. 2012 Netball Quad Series
The 2012 Netball Quad Series was the inaugural Netball Quad Series series. It was co-hosted by Netball Australia and Netball New Zealand. It featured Australia national netball team, Australia, England national netball team, England, New Zealand national netball team, New Zealand and South Africa national netball team, South Africa playing each other in a series of twelve Test match (netball), netball test matches in October and November 2012. The series featured six double headers with three played in Australia and three played in New Zealand. The three in Australia were also known as the Holden International Quad-Series, while the three in New Zealand were also known as the New World Quad Series. Lisa Alexander (netball)
Lisa Michelle Alexander is a retired Australian netball player and coach. She coached the Australia national netball team from 2011 to 2020. Career Alexander is a former Victorian state representative player and a member of the Australian senior wider squad. She was head coach of the Melbourne Phoenix in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy, taking the team to two title wins in 2002 and 2003. She was appointed head coach of the Australian U21 netball team from 2006–07. With the start of the ANZ Championship in 2008, Alexander was appointed assistant coach of the Adelaide Thunderbirds, under head coach Jane Woodlands-Thompson. The Thunderbirds won the ANZ Championship title in 2009. That year she was also an assistant coach for the World 7 team during the 2009 Taini Jamison Trophy Series. 2017 Netball Quad Series (August/September)
The second 2017 Netball Quad Series was the fourth Netball Quad Series series. It was co-hosted by Netball Australia and Netball New Zealand. It featured Australia, England, New Zealand and South Africa playing each other in a series of six netball test matches in August and September 2017. It was the second of two Netball Quad Series' played in 2017. The first series was played in January and February. In Round 2, England defeated New Zealand 49–45. It was only their fifth victory over New Zealand in 88 meetings. In Round 3, South Africa defeated England 54–51. It was the first time South Africa had won a Netball Quad Series match and it was their biggest win over England since 1997. Katrina Grant
Katrina Rore (née Grant; born 6 May 1987 in Papakura, Auckland, New Zealand) is a New Zealand international netball player. Rore is a previous captain of the New Zealand national netball team, the Silver Ferns, and plays for the Central Pulse in the ANZ Championship. Rore signed to the New South Wales Swifts in the Suncorp Super Netball league in the latter half of the 2018–2019 season following the Netball World Cup. In domestic netball, Rore previously played for the Canterbury Flames in the National Bank Cup in 2005, before moving south for a two-year stint with the Otago Rebels (2006–07). Janine Southby
Janine Southby Brown is a retired New Zealand netball player who then coached the national Silver Ferns netball team. She was also the coach of the Southern Steel in the ANZ Championship. Southby played for the Western Flyers in the National Bank Cup competition from 1997 to 2001, before transferring to the Dunedin-based Otago Rebels in 2002. In 2015, Southby was given the role as head coach for the New Zealand netball team the Silver Ferns. Southby had resigned on July 20, 2018, where the independent review found fault in Southby's coaching style. Coaching Southby retired from netball after the 2003 season and became the Rebels assistant coach for 2004 and 2005, working under Lois Muir. Sharni Layton
Sharni Norder (née Layton; born 6 January 1988) is a retired Australian sportsperson, known for her top level careers in netball and Australian rules football. Over fifteen years Norder played for six netball clubs in multiple elite competitions, and was a dual premiership player for the Adelaide Thunderbirds. She earned 46 caps for the Australia national netball team, won two gold medals at the Netball World Cup and one gold medal at the Commonwealth Games, and was captain of the team in 2017. After ending her professional netball career at the Collingwood Magpies in 2018, Norder transitioned to Australian rules football and played for Collingwood's AFL Women's team. As a footballer, Norder earned All-Australian honours in 2020, was part of Collingwood's VFLW premiership in 2019 and was vice-captain of the club in 2021. Clare McMeniman
Clare McMeniman (born 11 July 1985), also known as Clare Ferguson, is a former Australia netball international player. She captained Australia when they won the 2016 Netball Quad Series and the 2016 Constellation Cup. McMeniman was also a member of the Queensland Firebirds team that won the 2011, 2015 and 2016 ANZ Championships. Early life, family and education McMeniman was raised in Warwick, Queensland. She is the daughter of Geoff and Anne-Maree McMeniman. Her father, a solicitor, died in 2009 and her mother died in 2012. Her older brother, Hugh McMeniman, is a former Australian rugby union international player. She was educated at Warwick West State School and John Paul College, Brisbane. The Rugby Championship
The Rugby Championship, formerly known as the Tri Nations Series (1996–2011), is an international rugby union competition contested annually by Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. These are traditionally the four highest ranked national teams in the Southern Hemisphere; the Six Nations is a similar tournament in the Northern Hemisphere. The first 2017 Netball Quad Series was the third Netball Quad Series series. It was co-hosted by England Netball and Netball South Africa. It featured Australia, England, New Zealand and South Africa playing each other in a series of six netball test matches in January and February 2017. It was the first of two Netball Quad Series' played in 2017. The second series was played in August and September.
