Cypriniformes is an order of ray-finned fish, which includes many families and genera of cyprinid ( carps and their kin) fish, such as barbs, loaches, botias, and minnows (among others). Cypriniformes is an "order-within-an-order", placed under the superorder Ostariophysi—which is also made up of cyprinid, ostariophysin fishes. Description ''Nun galilaeus'' has the elongated, subcylindrical body shape typical of stone loaches with its mean depth being 15.5% of its length. That of the caudal peduncle being 10.4% while the head makes up a mean of 21.2% of the standard length. The origin of the dorsal fin sits in front of the vertical origin of the pelvic fin. The dorsal fin has a slightly convex to near straight upper margin and 4-5 unbranched and 9-11 branched rays. The anal fin has 3-4 unbranched and 5-6 branched rays. Francis Talbot Day (2 March 1829 – 10 July 1889) was an army surgeon and naturalist in the Madras Presidency who later became the Inspector-General of Fisheries in British Raj, India and British rule in Burma, Burma. Pieter Bleeker (10 July 1819 – 24 January 1878) was a Dutch medical doctor, Ichthyology, ichthyologist, and Herpetology, herpetologist. He was famous for the ''Atlas Ichthyologique des Indes Orientales Néêrlandaises'', his monumental work on the fishes of East Asia published between 1862 and 1877. Life and work Bleeker was born on 10 July 1819 in Zaandam. He was employed as a medical officer in the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army from 1842 to 1860, (in French). stationed in the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia). Solomon Markovich Herzenstein (; 1854 – August 7, 1894) was a Russian zoologist. Biography Herzenstein received a degree in natural sciences and mathematics from St. Petersburg University and was appointed as the custodian of the Zoological Museum of the Imperial Academy of Science in 1879 or 1880. He also supervised practical training at the University for Women. In 1880, 1884, and 1887, he was commissioned to travel to the Murman Coast of the Kola Peninsula to study the mollusks and fishes there. His work, "Materialy k Faunye Murmanskavo Berega i Byelavo Morya," which was published in the ''Trudy'' of the in 1885, became a standard reference.
