Miss World
Miss World is the oldest existing international beauty pageant. It was created in the United Kingdom by Eric Morley in 1951. Since his death in 2000, Morley's widow, Julia Morley, has co-chaired the pageant. Along with Miss Universe, Miss International, and Miss Earth, it is one of the Big Four beauty pageants. The current Miss World is Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand who was crowned on 31 May 2025 in Hyderabad, India. History 20th century In 1951 Eric Morley organised a bikini contest as part of the Festival of Britain celebrations that he called the Festival Bikini Contest. The event was popular with the press, which dubbed it "Miss World". The swimsuit competition was intended as a promotion for the bikini, which had only recently been introduced to the market and was still widely regarded as immodest. Miss World 2025
Miss World 2025 was the 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant, held at the HITEC City#HITEX Exhibition Centre, HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, on 31 May 2025. Krystyna Pyszková of the Czech Republic crowned Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand at the end of the event. This is the first time Thailand has won in the history of the pageant Contestants from 108 countries and territories competed in the pageant. The pageant was co-hosted by Miss World 2016, Stephanie Del Valle and Sachin Kumbhar. Bollywood actors Jacqueline Fernandez and Ishaan Khatter performed in this edition. Miss World 1951
Miss World 1951 was the first Miss World pageant, held at the Lyceum Ballroom in London, United Kingdom on 27 July 1951. The contest was originally intended to be a one-off event connected with the Festival of Britain. At the end of the event, Kiki Håkansson of Sweden was announced as Miss World 1951. This is the first victory of Sweden in the history of the pageant. Håkansson is also the only winner to be crowned wearing a bikini. Twenty-seven contestants from seven countries participated in this year's pageant. The pageant was hosted by Eric Morley. Thames Television
Thames Television, commonly simplified to just Thames, was a franchise holder for a region of the British ITV television network serving London and surrounding areas from 30 July 1968 until the night of 31 December 1992. Thames Television broadcast from 09:25 Monday morning to 17:15 Friday afternoon (19:00 Friday night until 1982) at which time it would hand over to London Weekend Television (LWT). Formed as a joint company, it merged the television interests of British Electric Traction (trading as Associated-Rediffusion) owning 49%, and Associated British Picture Corporation—soon taken over by EMI—owning 51%. Miss Great Britain
Miss Great Britain is a national beauty contest held annually in Britain since 1945. It is Britain's longest-running beauty pageant. History Following World War Two, a number of seaside resorts around the United Kingdom introduced beauty contests. The first, held in Morecambe in 1945, went on to become Miss Great Britain. The contest began in the summer of 1945 under the name "Bathing Beauty Queen", organised by the Morecambe Town Council in partnership with the ‘Sunday Dispatch’ newspaper. Morecambe went on to become the home of Miss Great Britain between 1956 and 1989. The first ever Miss Great Britain final was watched by 4,300 people in a continuous downpour. The winner received a cup and according to the local newspaper "a paltry prize" of seven guineas as well as a swimsuit. A personality test is a method of assessing human personality construct (psychology), constructs. Most personality assessment instruments (despite being loosely referred to as "personality tests") are in fact introspective (i.e., subjective) self-report questionnaire (Q-data, in terms of LOTS of data, LOTS data) measures or reports from life records (L-data) such as rating scales.
