Mills Reservation
Mills Reservation is a county park, consisting of a protected wooded area located in Cedar Grove and Montclair, New Jersey, United States. The reservation is maintained by the Essex County Park Commission. The reservation has several walking and jogging trails, including the Lenape Trail, four major trails, and two smaller trails. One of the four main trails leads to a cliff that overlooks the New York City skyline. Mills Reservation is located on the First Watchung Mountain, one of three Watchung Mountains which are long, low ridges of volcanic origin in northern New Jersey. Geography Mills Reservation is located atop First Watchung Mountain in Montclair, New Jersey and Cedar Grove, New Jersey. It is a 157.15-acre tract of forest, grassland, and cliffs. Views from Montclair to Newark, the Hudson River, and Manhattan can be seen from Quarry Point, a 500-foot basalt ledge on a ridge on the south end of the park. Mills Peak (New Zealand)
Mills Peak is an mountain in Fiordland, New Zealand. Description Mills Peak is part of the Darran Mountains where it is situated above Milford Sound in the Southland Region of the South Island. It is set within Fiordland National Park which is part of the Te Wahipounamu UNESCO World Heritage Site. Precipitation runoff from the mountain's east slope drains into the Bowen River, whereas the west slope drains into the Harrison River and Harrison Cove. Topographic relief is significant as the summit rises above the Bowen Valley in one kilometre, and above tidewater at Harrison Cove in 1.5 kilometre. The nearest higher neighbour is Mount Grave, three kilometres to the northeast. The Mesa Range () is a range of flat-topped mesas comprising the Sheehan, Pain, Tobin and Gair Mesas, situated at the head of the Rennick Glacier in Victoria Land, Antarctica. It was given this descriptive name by the northern party of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (NZGSAE) of 1962–63. Location The Gair, Tobin and Pain mesas are in the east side of the middle reach of the Rennick Glacier, and the Sheehan Mesa is on the west side. The Deep Freeze Range () is a rugged mountain range, over long and about wide, rising between Priestley Glacier, Priestley and Campbell Glacier, Campbell Glaciers in Victoria Land, Antarctica, and extending from the edge of the polar plateau to Terra Nova Bay. It is southwest of the Southern Cross Mountains, south of the Mesa Range and northeast of the Eisenhower Range of the Prince Albert Mountains. Exploration and name Peaks in the low and mid portions of the range were observed by early British expeditions to the Ross Sea. The range was mapped in detail by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1955-63. The Dominion Range () is a broad mountain range, about long, forming a prominent salient at the juncture of the Beardmore and Mill glaciers in Antarctica. The range is part of the Queen Maud Mountains The range was discovered by the British Antarctic Expedition, 1907–09 and named by Ernest Shackleton for the Dominion of New Zealand, which generously aided the expedition. Location Plunket Point, at the northern tip of the Meyer Desert, is the northernmost point of the range, where the Mill Glacier to the east of the range converges with the Beardmore Glacier to the west. The Rutkowski Glacier forms to the west of the Meyer Desert and flows south past Mount mills. Lofgren Peninsula () is an ice-covered peninsula about long, projecting between Cadwalader Inlet and Morgan Inlet on the northeast side of Thurston Island, Antarctica. Location Lofren Peninsula is at the east end of Thurston Island between Cadwalader Inlet to the north and Morgan Inlet to the south. Cape Menzel is the northeast tip of the peninsula. Fort Mills
Fort Mills ( Corregidor, the Philippines) was the location of US Major General George F. Moore's headquarters for the Philippine Department's Harbor Defenses of Manila and Subic Bays in early World War II, and was the largest seacoast fort in the Philippines. Most of this Coast Artillery Corps fort was built 1904–1910 by the United States Army Corps of Engineers as part of the Taft program of seacoast defense. The fort was named for Brigadier General Samuel Meyers Mills Jr., Chief of Artillery 1905–1906.
