Middle Tennessee State University
Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU or MT) is a Public university, public research university in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Founded in 1911 as a normal school, the university consists of eight Undergraduate education, undergraduate colleges as well as a college of Postgraduate education, graduate studies, together offering more than 300 degree programs through more than 35 departments. It is Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, classified among "R2: Universities". Prior to 2017, MTSU was governed by the Tennessee Board of Regents and part of the State University and Community College System of Tennessee. In 2017, governance was transferred to an institutional board of trustees. Las Vegas Aces
The Las Vegas Aces are an American professional basketball team based in the Las Vegas metropolitan area. The Aces compete in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) as a member of the Western Conference. The team plays its home games at Michelob Ultra Arena in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, and is headquartered in Henderson, Nevada. The Aces won the 2022 WNBA Commissioner's Cup and WNBA Championship. The Aces also won the 2023 WNBA Championship, becoming the first team to win back-to-back championships since 2001-2002, when the Los Angeles Sparks completed that feat. The team was founded in Salt Lake City, Utah, as the Utah Starzz before the league's inaugural 1997 season. Shawn Jones (basketball)
Shawn Jones (born March 25, 1992) is an American-born professional basketball player who last played for Legia Warsaw of the Polish Basketball League. He played college basketball for Middle Tennessee State University, where he was named the Conference USA Men's Basketball Player of the Year in 2014. High school career Jones attended Hialeah High School in Hialeah, Florida. As a senior in 2009–10, he averaged 23.3 points, 14.3 rebounds and 9.1 blocks per game as he earned first team All-Dade County and third team All-State honors. College career In his four-year career at Middle Tennessee State, Jones played 131 games (62 starts), averaging 8.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. Richie James
Richard Rhondel James Jr. (born September 5, 1995) is an American professional football wide receiver. He played college football at Middle Tennessee and was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL draft. He has also played for the New York Giants. With the Chiefs, he won Super Bowl LVIII. Early life James attended Riverview High School in Sarasota, Florida. Along with playing football, he also participated and lettered in track, winning multiple state titles. James originally committed to play football for the Georgia Southern Eagles in December 2013, but decommitted after a coaching change. He then committed to play football for the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders in January 2014 and signed in February 2014. College career James did not play as a true freshman in 2014 and ended up choosing to redshirt. Amber Holt
Amber Shirell Holt (born June 7, 1985) is an American professional women's basketball player most recently with the Tulsa Shock in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Early life Holt was born in Norcross, Georgia. She is the daughter of Cassandra Holt. Holt is joined by her two brothers, Cortez and DeMarkus Dennis. High school career Holt attended Meadowcreek High School in Norcross, Georgia. Holt averaged 19.1 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists as a senior while leading the Lady Mustangs to a 20–7 record. The quarterback (QB) is a position in gridiron football who are members of the offensive side of the ball and mostly line up directly behind the Lineman (football), offensive line. In modern American football, the quarterback is usually considered the leader of the offense, and is often responsible for calling the play in the huddle. Bryan Kelly Holcomb (born July 9, 1973) is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders. Holcomb was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent after the 1995 NFL draft. Andrico Hines
Andrico Hines (born December 10, 1980) is an American former professional football quarterback who played three seasons in the Arena Football League (AFL) with the Cleveland Gladiators and Pittsburgh Power. He played college football at Middle Georgia College, Southwest Mississippi Community College, and Middle Tennessee State University. Hines was also a member of the South Georgia Wildcats, Chattahoochee Valley Vipers, Spokane Shock, Bossier–Shreveport Battle Wings and Alabama Vipers. Kenneth Dwone Hicks (born April 25, 1981) is an American former football running back who played in the National Football League. He played college football for the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders and was signed by the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in after the 2003 NFL draft. He was also a member of the Chicago Bears. Early years Hicks played at Washingtonville High School in Washingtonville, New York, for a short time in 1996. He holds that school's single-game rushing record (27 carries for 391 yards). Donald Frederick Griffin (born March 17, 1964) is an American former professional football player who was a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders. Griffin was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round of the 1986 NFL draft.
