Magix Software
Magix (or MAGIX Software) is a German software company specializing in video editing, audio editing, Digital audio workstation, DAW and photo slideshow software. The company is based in Berlin, with locations in Madison, Wisconsin, Dresden and Lübbecke, as well as Huizen in the Netherlands. In May 2018, private equity firm Capiton announced that it had acquired a majority stake in Magix Software GmbH together with its management. Product history In 1994, the first edition of Magix Music Maker was released. The program now has over 2 million users as of 2018. Starting in 1996, the Magix product range was extended to include software for designing, editing, presenting and archiving photos and videos. Xara Designer Pro+ is an image editing program incorporating photo editing and vector illustration tools created by British software company Xara. VEGAS Movie Studio (previously Sony Vegas Movie Studio) was a consumer-based nonlinear video editor designed for the PC. It was a scaled-down version of Vegas Pro. Huizen () is a municipality and a village in the province of North Holland, the Netherlands. The name "Huizen" is Dutch for "houses" and this usage has been linked to the belief that the first stone houses in the region, instead of the more common sod houses of the time, appeared here.
