Masao Maruyama (film Producer)
is a Japanese anime producer and entrepreneur. He is the co-founder of Madhouse, as well as the founder of MAPPA and Studio M2 animation studios. He is the current Chairman of MAPPA and President of Studio M2 and Board member of N LITE Japan. Maruyama has been involved in the Japanese animation business for more than 50 years. He has worked with many well-known and up-and-coming animators, established several animation production companies, worked on dozens of series, films, planned and produced various works. Maruyama is one of the most experienced producers in the Japanese animation industry, and has given opportunities to individuals who went on to become accomplished directors in their own right. is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto. Vinland Saga (TV Series)
is a Japanese anime television series based on Makoto Yukimura's historical manga of the same name. The first season of the series was produced by Wit Studio and aired in 2019; the second season was produced by MAPPA and aired in 2023. The story follows the life of Thorfinn, who becomes involved with Vikings and war following his father's death at the hands of Askeladd. The first season follows his exploits as a revenge-driven bloodthirsty Viking and the second season shifts to his life as a stoic slave who has lost the will to live. Despite the two seasons being produced by different studios, director Shūhei Yabuta and writer Hiroshi Seko worked together on both. Yuri!!! On Ice
is a Japanese sports anime television series about figure skating. The series was produced by MAPPA, directed and written by Sayo Yamamoto with original scripts by Mitsurō Kubo under the chief episode direction of Jun Shishido. Character designs were handled by Tadashi Hiramatsu, and its music was composed by Taro Umebayashi and Taku Matsushiba. The figure skating was choreographed by Kenji Miyamoto, who also performed routines himself which were recorded and used as skating sound effects. Dororo
is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by the manga artist Osamu Tezuka. Tezuka's childhood memory of his friends pronouncing as ''dororo'' inspired the title of the series. ''Dororo'' was first serialized in Shogakukan's ''Weekly Shōnen Sunday'' between August 1967 and July 1968, before being cancelled. The manga was then concluded in Akita Shoten's ''Bōken'ō'' magazine in 1969. The story revolves around the samurai Hyakkimaru and child thief Dororo on their journey through Sengoku era Japan.
